100× Wooden wick, .03 crackling, 12.7 mmDrevený knôt, .03 praskajúci, 12,7 mm ZASOBAProduct description
A wooden wick with a metal sustainer is designed for making container candles where the flame should produce, alongside light, a gentle crackling sound reminiscent of a fireplace. The pack contains 100 wicks with sustainers, making it suitable for repeated small-batch production.
The set consists of a wick made from a single wooden slat and a metal sustainer into which the wick is inserted. The sustainer holds the wick perpendicular to the bottom of the container. According to the manufacturer, the wick is made from certified wood, is allergen-free and biodegradable.
Key features
- Crackling effect – the wick belongs to the single-slat crackling wick series, which produces a quiet crackling sound when burning.
- Flat slat width 12.7 mm – the wick is flat and ribbon-shaped, not round like a cotton wick.
- Thickness .03 – the thickness designation comes from the manufacturer; a higher number indicates a thicker slat.
- Sustainer included – each wick comes with a metal sustainer that holds it upright, so no improvised support is needed.
Use in candle making
Insert the wick into the sustainer and secure the sustainer at the centre of the container bottom. Pour the wax around the wick. Once set, trim the wick to the height of the candle, so a single length works for both shorter and taller containers.
The correct wick size depends on the container diameter, the type of wax, and the fragrance oil load. If the wick is too weak for a given candle, try a thicker slat — i.e. a wick with a higher thickness number.
With every new combination of container, wax and fragrance, make a test candle first and confirm the wick choice through a burn test.
Neither the wick nor the sustainer is rated for contact with cosmetics or food. They are intended for candle making, not for massage candles applied to the skin.
