Wooden Booster crackling wick is a wick for container candles that crackles while burning. The main wooden lamella has an added reinforcing layer, which gives the series its Booster designation.

Supplied as a set with a round metal stand that holds the wick perpendicular to the bottom of the container. The pack contains 100 pieces.

How to choose the right size

The size of a wooden wick is defined by two values. 9.5 mm is the width of the lamella. The designation .04 is the manufacturer's indication of lamella thickness: a higher number means a thicker lamella.

Which combination of width and thickness is suitable for a specific container depends on the wax, fragrance and dye used.

Use in candle making

The wick is placed in the container before pouring the wax.

• Insert the wick into the stand.
• Secure the stand in the centre of the clean, dry container bottom, where it holds the wick upright.
• Once the wax has been poured and has fully set, trim the wick above the wax surface.

The wick length is sufficient even for taller containers. The excess is cut with pliers or sturdy scissors; the correct height above the wax surface is confirmed during the test burn.
