Crackling wooden wick 6×4 mm short is a specially shaped component intended mainly for the production of natural candles in glass, ceramics or other stable packaging. Thanks to its design, it creates a characteristic crackling effect and a stable flame while burning, which perfectly complements designer candle containers and jars. When the size of the container and the wax is chosen correctly, it helps ensure even burning and a professional result of the final product.
The wooden wick can be used in various containers – in glass vials, jars, ceramic pots or metal tins. It is always necessary, however, to take into account the diameter and depth of the container, the type and composition of the wax and any fragrance addition. Before serial production, we recommend performing a burn test to verify that the wick with the selected container will ensure even and safe burning of the candle.
Before each relighting of the candle, it is advisable to remove the burnt part of the wick and leave only the solid part at the recommended height above the wax surface. This can be done with fingers after cooling, or with small pliers or scissors. A properly trimmed wick supports a stable flame, reduces smokiness and helps the wax burn evenly in the container.
The candle packaging, for example a glass vial, pot or tin, can be reused provided that hygiene and safety principles are observed. After the candle has been used up, the container must be thoroughly cleaned of wax residues and cleaned and disinfected before refilling. For disinfection, it is suitable to use, for example, technical ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, which you can find in our range as the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. A container prepared in this way can be safely refilled with wax and a new wick.
If you decide not to reuse the candle container, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the material stated in the parameters of the specific product on our website. Glass containers are usually sorted into the glass container, plastic packaging into the appropriate plastic container, and metal components according to local sorting rules. Before disposal, it is advisable to remove wax residues and separate components (for example lids or metal wick holders) so that recycling is effective and in line with the recommendations of the separate collection system in your region.
