Product description
The 50 ml aluminium bottle with a white fine mist sprayer and a silver matte collar makes a ready-to-use set for spraying thin cosmetic preparations as a fine mist. Aluminium does not let light through, so the contents are protected throughout the whole period of use. The bottle is lightweight and does not break if dropped. The set is suitable for hydrosols, facial and hair tonics, refreshing face and body sprays, alcohol-based perfume waters or thin hair glosses. The 50 ml volume suits a travel pack, a sample or a spray you carry in your handbag.
What the set includes
- 50 ml aluminium bottle – a silver cylindrical bottle with a 24/410 neck finish, opaque and glass-free.
- Fine mist sprayer 24/410 – a white head with a silver matte collar, a dip tube for drawing up the contents and a clear overcap that protects the nozzle from dirt and accidental pressing.
Both parts have the same thread, so the set can be taken apart, cleaned and reassembled. You can find other closures with a 24/410 neck finish and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you combine parts yourself, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
What it is suitable for
The sprayer draws up the contents through a dip tube and disperses them through the nozzle, so it works properly only with liquids of a water-like consistency. Suitable options include:
- Hydrosols and floral waters – the opaque bottle protects them from light better than clear glass.
- Facial and hair tonics – both water-based and lightly alcohol-based formulas with dissolved active ingredients.
- Perfume waters and body sprays – an alcohol base with a fragrance composition or solubilised essential oils.
- Hair mists – thin solutions with sea salt, proteins or glycerine.
The sprayer will not atomise creams, gels, thickened tonics or pure vegetable oils. The nozzle will either release only a stream or become blocked. For oil-based spray blends, we recommend testing the behaviour on a small sample before you fill a whole batch.
Nominal volume and brimful volume
The nominal volume of 50 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the sprayer, which take up part of the space once screwed on. Fill only up to the nominal volume. A bottle filled to the brim will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on, and the sprayer may not seal properly.
Preparation and filling
Before first use, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely, ideally upside down. The dip tube of the sprayer is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom.
After filling, tighten the sprayer firmly and press it several times to prime it until the tube fills with the contents. The first doses are usually weaker, and the following ones spray evenly.
Pour the contents in using a funnel or from a measuring cup with a spout, as the neck of the bottle is narrow.
Good to know
Aluminium and your formulation. Aluminium is a metal and may react with strongly acidic or alkaline solutions. The bottle is commonly used with hydrosols, tonics with a pH close to that of the skin and alcohol-based sprays. However, we recommend verifying compatibility with your specific formulation on a sample over several weeks. Watch for changes in colour, fragrance and the appearance of the inner surface.
The plastic parts of the sprayer are made of polypropylene. For formulations with a high proportion of undiluted essential oils or solvents, test the compatibility of the plastic before filling a larger batch.
The set is not approved for contact with food. Do not use it for edible oils, syrups or other food products. It is intended exclusively for cosmetics.
Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is available with the product.
Reuse. The bottle can be refilled repeatedly. Contents with undissolved particles, such as powders or plant residues, block the nozzle. When you change the fragrance or formulation, it is better to replace the sprayer with a new one.
Recycling. The aluminium bottle belongs in metal waste. The sprayer combines plastic and aluminium, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
