Product description

The aluminium bottle with white cap with a volume of 50 ml is lightweight packaging for small quantities of cosmetics that does not break when dropped. It is suitable for body and massage oils, oil serums, blends of carrier and essential oils, or samples of your own products. The metal wall blocks light, so the contents are protected from daylight and UV radiation, which is particularly important for oils prone to oxidation. The ribbed plastic cap is easy to unscrew even with oily fingers. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

  • Oil-based products – body, massage and hair oils, oil serums, blends with essential oils. The opaque wall protects them from light, which speeds up the spoilage of oils.
  • Travel packs – the 50 ml volume suits hand luggage, and the bottle weighs only a few grams and does not crack when something falls on it in a suitcase.
  • Samples and test batches – a small quantity for trying out a formulation, for a gift, or for handing out to customers when introducing a new product.

Cap and seal

The set includes a white cap made of polypropylene with a foam polyethylene (EPE) liner that sits on the neck and seals it. The ribbed surface gives your fingers a grip when tightening, so the cap can be closed firmly without any tools. The contents are dispensed by pouring, which suits oils and liquids with lower viscosity. If you prefer a different way of dispensing, you will find closures with the same neck type, as well as ready-made bottle and closure combinations, in the Handymade range.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides room for the closure and for the contents to expand with temperature changes, for example when oil warms up in summer. For this reason, fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not up to the brim.

A small funnel or a syringe without a needle will help you when filling. The neck is narrow and the aluminium wall is opaque, so you cannot see the level from the outside. It is better to measure out the quantity in advance.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product encourages the growth of microorganisms, which an anhydrous formulation without a preservative cannot cope with.

You can use the bottle repeatedly, provided that you clean it thoroughly between refills and the cap with its liner remains intact. Aluminium does not crack, but the wall may dent under a strong impact. This usually has no effect on function, only on appearance.

No information on the internal surface treatment is available. For water-based, alcohol-based and especially acidic formulations (toners with a low pH, infusions, products with acids), we recommend checking in advance how the packaging behaves with the specific contents, ideally in a test bottle over several weeks.

The set is not declared suitable for contact with food; it is intended for cosmetics. When disposing of it, separate the plastic cap from the aluminium bottle, as each material belongs in a different waste collection.

Frequently asked questions

Does the aluminium bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the aluminium wall is completely opaque and no light passes through it. For vegetable oils, oil serums and blends with essential oils, this is an advantage over clear glass or plastic bottles, because light speeds up oxidation. Oils with a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, such as rosehip or flaxseed oil, therefore keep in better condition in aluminium.
How much fits into the 50 ml aluminium bottle?
The bottle is intended to be filled with 50 ml, although its physical brimful volume is larger. The difference provides room for the closure and for the contents to expand with temperature changes. If you filled the bottle up to the neck, the contents would overflow when you screw on the cap or when the bottle warms up. The total volume is given in the product parameters.
Is the aluminium bottle suitable for water-based and alcohol-based products?
The set is declared for cosmetics in general, but no information on the internal surface treatment is available. For water, alcohol and especially acidic formulations, we therefore recommend checking in advance how the packaging behaves with the specific contents. Oil-based and anhydrous products, for which aluminium bottles are most often used, do not carry this risk.
Can the aluminium bottle with cap be washed and reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the cap can be washed and refilled. Wash them with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Check the foam polyethylene liner in the cap; if it is damaged, the bottle will no longer seal.
Can a closure other than the white cap be used on the aluminium bottle?
Yes, the bottle has a standard neck, and closures with the same thread type as stated in the parameters can be screwed onto it. You will find ready-made bottle and closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check that it seals with your specific formulation, as the viscosity and composition of the contents affect how the closure dispenses and whether it leaks.
Is the aluminium bottle with white cap suitable for food?
No, this set is not declared suitable for contact with food. The bottle and the cap are intended for cosmetic products, for which they have a declaration of conformity. For homemade oils, syrups or herbal infusions, choose packaging whose parameters explicitly state suitability for food contact.
