Product description
Aluminium bottle with mini trigger sprayer, 50 ml
The aluminium bottle with a volume of 50 ml and a black mini trigger sprayer is designed for hydrosols, facial mists, toners and other thin water-based or alcohol-based preparations that are damaged by light. Aluminium blocks out light completely, which is not the case with glass or plastic bottles. The bottle is light and shatterproof, so it fits easily in a handbag and is ideal for travel.
The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Handymade issues an EU declaration of conformity for both the bottle and the sprayer.
What it is suitable for
- Hydrosols and facial mists – thin water-based preparations are sprayed evenly, without drips.
- Toners and refreshing sprays – including formulations containing alcohol, which are applied more evenly through a sprayer than by hand.
- Hair sprays – light leave-in preparations for hair and scalp.
- Travel size – the 50 ml volume fits within the liquids limit for hand luggage.
How the set works
The sprayer has a 24/410 neck finish and screws onto the bottle without any additional seal or adapter. One press releases a dose of approximately 0.2 ml, a fine mist suitable for both face and hair. The smooth black collar has no grooves, so it is easy to clean and does not trap product residue.
The dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it with a sharp knife or scissors so that it reaches the bottom of the bottle. Make the cut at an angle, because a straight end may stick to the bottom and the sprayer then will not draw up the last millilitres.
The mini trigger sprayer is designed for thin liquids. Thick serums, oil blends or gel-based preparations will not be atomised by the nozzle, or they may clog it. For a thicker formulation, test the sprayer on a small sample before filling the whole batch.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume of 50 ml is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and can be found in the parameters. The difference between the two serves as a reserve for the submerged dip tube of the sprayer and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume. If it were filled to the brim, part of the contents would be pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on.
Good to know
Before first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Rinse the tube and nozzle by spraying diluted alcohol through them several times.
We recommend testing compatibility with your formulation on a small sample, especially for water-based preparations with a low pH and for formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents. Aluminium is sensitive to strongly acidic and alkaline environments. The sprayer is made of polypropylene, which concentrated essential oils attack over time. With common hydrosols, toners and alcohol sprays, both materials are stable.
Reuse is possible. After emptying, take the sprayer apart, rinse it with warm water and let it dry. Wash and disinfect the bottle in the same way as before first filling. Do not pour hot contents into the bottle. Let the preparation cool to room temperature first, otherwise a vacuum forms when the sprayer is screwed on and the bottle may lose its shape.
The sprayer is not intended for solutions with undissolved particles, for example a scrub or preparations with suspended pigments. The nozzle will clog and the sprayer will stop dispensing.
Closures with the same 24/410 neck finish and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. If you create your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
Recycling: once empty, the aluminium bottle belongs with metal packaging and the plastic sprayer with plastics. Unscrew the set before disposal.
