The Boston glass bottle is a versatile container suitable for a wide range of liquid and slightly viscous preparations in cosmetics and artisanal production. The dark glass also helps to reduce the penetration of light to sensitive formulation components, thereby contributing to the stability and longer shelf life of the contents. Thanks to its high-quality workmanship, the bottle is ideal for products where protection of the composition, a professional appearance and precise dosing are important.
Boston glass bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray heads or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of containers and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The Boston glass medicine bottle is suitable for most cosmetic and aromatherapeutic formulations, including recipes containing plant oils and common active substances. The dark glass helps to reduce light exposure, which is an advantage for more sensitive components. Before large-scale use, however, we recommend making a trial batch and verifying the behaviour of the specific formulation over time.
The container can be reused if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination or an impact on the fragrance and stability of the next product. For disinfection we recommend, for example, isopropyl alcohol or ethanol of a quality suitable for cosmetic use, available in the Handymade range, namely IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After cleaning, allow the bottle to dry completely and only then refill it.
Before first use, we recommend rinsing the bottle with warm water and a mild cleaning agent, then rinsing thoroughly so that no detergent residues remain. After washing, it is appropriate to disinfect the container, for example using isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol, allow it to drain and dry completely at room temperature. Only then should you fill the bottle with the finished product.
If you decide not to reuse the container, we recommend recycling it according to the material type specified in the product parameters. The glass part can generally be placed, after removing product residues and separate components (closure, dropper, etc.), in a container designated for glass. Plastic or metal closures are sorted according to their material into the appropriate collection bins. Always follow local waste separation rules and the information in the parameters of the specific container on Handymade.sk.
