Amber Glass Bottle, Glossy Silver Black Dropper, 10 ml

This glass medicine bottle with a volume of 10 ml and a black and silver dropper is a set for facial serums, cosmetic oils and essential oil blends that are applied drop by drop. The amber glass filters light, so it suits contents that quickly lose their effect or oxidise in light: unrefined oils, essential oil blends, serums with vitamins. The small volume suits concentrated products, customer samples and test batches, where filling a larger pack does not make sense.

The set is supplied as a bottle and dropper together, with a matching thread, so there is no need to choose the closure separately. The length of the dropper is matched to this bottle, so the contents can be dispensed even when only a small amount remains. The medicine bottle shape with a narrow neck is a common packaging choice for dropper products and takes up little space on a shelf.

How the set works

The dropper has a glass tube, a silicone squeeze part and a closure made of plastic and aluminium in a black and silver combination. Squeeze the silicone part before immersing the dropper in the contents, release it to fill the tube, and then release the contents drop by drop over the skin or your palm. This allows precise dispensing, without spilling and without unnecessary contact of the finished product with air.

Products with low to medium viscosity are dispensed best: oils, water-based or oil-based serums, tinctures. The dropper cannot draw up thick gels, balms or products containing butters; jars or bottles with a different type of closure are more suitable for them.

What it is suitable for

• Facial serums – oil-based and water-based serums with active ingredients, where only a few drops are applied and the amber glass protects the contents from light.
• Essential oil blends – aromatherapy and massage blends that are added drop by drop to a carrier oil, a bath or a diffuser.
• Oils for cuticles, moustaches and hair ends – a small amount for a single use, applied precisely to the right spot.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – drop dispensing is the usual way of using them, and dark glass slows the breakdown of the contents in light.
• Samples and test batches – a volume of 10 ml is enough to try out a formulation or to send samples to customers.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper, which pushes part of the contents upwards when screwed in, and also leaves space for the contents to expand when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, never to the brim.

For a larger number of pieces, it is convenient to fill with a small funnel or a syringe. The product should be at room temperature before filling. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes well, and with a hot oil phase the bottle may crack.

Good to know

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is provided with the product. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the dropper is not certified for food contact. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics and is not intended for food.

With concentrated essential oils, alcohol blends and solvents, we recommend checking whether the silicone squeeze part softens or loses elasticity over time. Testing in your specific formulation is also advisable for tightness during transport and for how the contents behave when left standing for a longer time.

The packaging can be used repeatedly. It is enough to wash and disinfect the bottle and leave it to dry; the dropper must also be rinsed on the inside of the tube. If the silicone hardens or the glass tube gets a chipped edge, replace the dropper; the bottle can continue to be used.

The bottle goes in glass recycling. The dropper combines glass, silicone, plastic and aluminium, so it is separated from the bottle before recycling and sorted separately.
