Product description

The glass vial with atomiser is a small set designed for perfumes, fragrant waters and aromatic sprays in a 10 ml volume. Amber glass protects the contents from light, making it especially suitable for compositions with essential oils and fragrant substances that lose their scent or change colour in light. The glossy black-gold atomiser with a transparent smoke-coloured cap gives the bottle the appearance of a finished perfume packaging and at the same time protects the nozzle from accidental pressing in a handbag or travel bag.

The 10 ml volume corresponds to a travel size, sample or tester. The set is therefore suitable for manufacturers who want to offer customers a fragrance to try, for small batches of alcohol-based perfumes, hydrosol refreshing face sprays or fragrance sprays for textiles and hair in a smaller size.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – amber glass dampens UV radiation, which accelerates oxidation of fragrant substances and essential oils. The fragrance retains its original character longer.
  • Fine dosing – the mechanical atomiser releases a small, even dose in the form of a fine mist with each press. Suitable for applying perfume to skin as well as spraying toner.
  • Finished appearance – the black-gold atomiser with smoke-coloured cap needs no further modifications. A label is all it takes and the packaging is ready for sale or gifting.
  • Inert material – glass does not react with alcohol or fragrant substances and does not affect the scent of the contents, which is essential for perfumes.
  • Practical size – the bottle fits in a pocket or cosmetic bag.

How to work with the set

Before first filling, we recommend washing and disinfecting the bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving it to dry completely. The atomiser is disinfected by spraying ethanol through it and then spraying it empty several times so that no liquid remains in the tube and nozzle.

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the quantity for which the container is designed for standard filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference provides a reserve for the atomiser tube and pump, which push the level upward when screwed on, and for the expansion of alcohol-based contents with temperature changes. If filled to the brim, the contents would overflow onto the thread when closing.

The atomiser tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, trim it with a sharp knife or scissors at an angle so that it reaches just to the bottom. The angled end will not suction against the glass and the atomiser will draw out almost all the contents.

One dose of the atomiser is approximately 0.14 ml, so a full bottle provides approximately 70 sprays. The actual number depends on the viscosity of the contents and the pressure applied.

Suitable contents include

  • Perfumes and fragrant waters on an alcohol base – alcohol is thin, sprays well and glass does not react with it.
  • Hydrosols and facial tonics – the aqueous content forms a fine mist. Aqueous contents, however, require preservation; the atomiser does not sterilise the contents.
  • Fragrance sprays for hair, textiles or pillows in travel size.
  • Samples and testers of your own fragrances for customers.

Less suitable are thick oils and emulsions. The atomiser is designed for thin liquids; viscous contents spray unevenly and the nozzle clogs. With perfume oils on a light carrier, we recommend testing the atomiser function in advance with the specific formulation.

What is good to know

  • Contact with cosmetics – both the bottle and the atomiser are declared as suitable for use with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity and certificates are available with the product.
  • Essential oils and plastic – the tube, pump and nozzle of the atomiser are made of plastic. Concentrated essential oils and some solvents may degrade plastic parts over time. With a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing the atomiser behaviour on a trial piece.
  • Glass and heat – the bottle withstands standard disinfection with alcohol; however, allow hot contents to cool before filling.
  • Reuse – glass can be filled again after washing and disinfecting. Spray the atomiser through with clean ethanol so that residues of the previous fragrance do not affect the new one.
  • Label – a narrow wraparound label is suitable for the cylindrical body of the bottle. Bottle dimensions are listed in the specifications.
  • Recycling – glass belongs in glass waste; the atomiser should be unscrewed before disposal and sorted with plastics.
  • Other closures – the bottle can also be combined with other closures with the same neck type listed in the specifications; ready-made combinations are offered as separate sets. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dosing with the specific formulation.

The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. Only the glass bottle has a separate food-contact certificate; the atomiser does not.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber glass vial protect perfume from light?
Yes, amber glass dampens UV radiation and slows down the oxidation of fragrant substances, so the perfume or blend of essential oils retains its original scent longer. The protection is not complete, so we recommend storing the bottle away from direct sunlight, especially with citrus and other easily oxidising compositions.
Can the glass vial with atomiser be used for oil?
Only for thin oily contents, such as perfume oils on a light carrier. The mechanical atomiser is designed for low-viscosity liquids; thick vegetable oils spray poorly and the nozzle clogs. With oily contents, we recommend testing the atomiser on one piece, or alternatively choosing a bottle with a dropper.
Why is the 10 ml vial not filled to the brim?
Because once the atomiser is screwed on, the tube and pump take up part of the space and the level rises. The reserve between the nominal and total volume is there precisely for the closure and for the expansion of alcohol-based contents with temperature changes. An overfilled bottle will overflow when closed and the contents will remain on the thread.
Is the set with atomiser suitable for alcohol-based perfume?
Yes, alcohol-based perfumes and fragrant waters are the typical contents of this set. Glass does not react with alcohol and the atomiser disperses it into a fine mist. We recommend allowing the perfume to mature and filtering it before filling, so that fine particles formed during maturation do not clog the nozzle.
How to clean the atomiser before a new fragrance?
Unscrew the atomiser, spray clean ethanol through the tube and pump and then spray empty several times until nothing comes out of the nozzle. Wash the bottle, rinse with alcohol and leave to dry. Residues of a strong fragrance may not be fully removed from plastic parts, so when changing fragrance we recommend a new atomiser.
Does a hydrosol in a vial with atomiser need a preservative?
Yes, an aqueous content such as a hydrosol or tonic must be preserved regardless of the container. The atomiser limits contact of the contents with air and fingers, but it is not sterile and will not prevent microbial growth. Choose a preservative according to the pH and composition of the hydrosol and verify its efficacy in the finished product.
