Product description
Glass bottle, square, black glossy dropper, 90 ml
A square bottle made of amber glass with a black glossy dropper is a complete packaging and closure set for preparations that need to be dispensed drop by drop and protected from light. Amber glass reduces light exposure, making the set particularly suitable for contents that deteriorate in light: facial and hair oils, oil serums, blends with essential oils, tinctures and herbal macerations. The dropper dispenses the contents drop by drop, without pouring and without finger contact with the contents, which is appreciated with concentrated preparations where every drop counts.
The square shape gives the bottle stability on a shelf or on a table and offers flat walls that are easy to label. The black glossy dropper cap creates a clean contrast to the amber glass and suits dark as well as minimalist product lines. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics; the declaration of conformity and related documents are provided with the product.
How the set works
- Dropper – consists of a glass tube, a flexible silicone bulb and a screw-on cap. Squeezing the bulb draws the contents in; releasing it dispenses drop by drop. The glass tube does not absorb odours and is easy to clean.
- Tube length – the dropper is matched to the height of the bottle, so the tube reaches almost to the bottom and the contents can be drawn out even at a low fill level.
- Light protection – amber glass reduces UV and visible light, which accelerates the yellowing of oils and the loss of fragrance in essential oils. It does not, however, replace storage in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
- Seal – the dropper tightens onto the bottle neck thread like a standard cap. Before transport and with alcohol-based or low-viscosity contents, we recommend testing the seal with a filled bottle placed on its side.
Nominal and total volume
For each bottle, we distinguish between two volumes. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed to hold at standard filling, and it is used to label the bottle and declare the contents on the label. The brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is always greater. The difference between them is the headspace that the dropper needs once screwed in, as well as room for the contents to expand with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Both values are listed in the product specifications.
When filling, leave headspace in the neck. If the bottle is filled to the brim, inserting the dropper will cause the contents to overflow and the bulb will draw in air instead of product.
Suitable for products such as
- Facial and hair oils – drop-by-drop dispensing matches the typical use of a few drops on the skin or hair ends.
- Oil serums with active ingredients – dark glass slows the oxidation of unsaturated oils and light-sensitive vitamins.
- Essential oil blends and aromatherapy concentrates – precise dispensing into a diffuser, carrier oil or bath.
- Tinctures, macerations and alcohol extracts – glass does not react with alcohol or plant pigments.
- Beard oil, nail oils and concentrated treatment preparations – the bottle volume suits products that are consumed slowly and in small doses.
The set is not suitable for thick creams and balms that cannot be drawn up with a dropper, nor for products with solid particles that would clog the tube. Aqueous solutions with low viscosity can be dispensed, but the drops will be larger and the dosing less precise than with oils.
Good to know
- Before first filling – wash the bottle and dropper, optionally disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product encourages microbial growth.
- Glass and heat – do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes, as the glass may crack. Allow warm oil blends to cool to at least room temperature before filling.
- Silicone bulb – with concentrated essential oils, citrus oils or solvents, we recommend checking the dropper behaviour with your specific formulation. The glass tube is resistant; the bulb may soften over time.
- Reuse – both the glass and the dropper can be washed and reused. Rinse the tube with alcohol, remove the bulb and wash it separately, and allow everything to dry completely before the next filling.
- Labelling – the flat walls of the square bottle are more convenient for labels than a cylindrical container.
- Recycling – the bottle goes into glass waste; the dropper is made of several materials and should be disposed of separately according to local rules.
Always return the dropper to the bottle clean. Residue from a different oil or water in the tube can contaminate the contents or alter its fragrance.
