Product description

This is a ready-made kit for drop-by-drop dispensing: a square brown glass bottle with a nominal volume of 90 ml and a white-gold dropper with a glass pipette that fits the bottle directly. Brown glass reduces light penetration, helping to maintain the stability of contents sensitive to light and oxidation. The kit is particularly suited to facial and hair serums, facial oils, essential oil blends in carrier oils, oil macerates and alcoholic tinctures intended for the skin — wherever precise, small-quantity dispensing is needed.

The square shape gives the bottle stability on a shelf and during use, while the flat sides make label application easy. The white-gold dropper complements the dark glass and gives the finished product a clean look without any additional accessories.

What the kit contains

  • Brown glass bottle – a square vial with an 18 mm threaded neck. Glass does not react with common cosmetic ingredients, does not release scent or colour, and tolerates oils and alcoholic solutions well.
  • Dropper – a closure with a glass pipette, silicone bulb and collar in a white-gold finish. The dropper length matches the bottle height, so the pipette reaches deep into the contents and draws them up even at a low fill level.
  • Seal – both parts are made for the same neck type. When correctly tightened, the kit seals properly and the dropper can be repeatedly unscrewed and refitted.

What the kit is suitable for

The dropper dispenses reliably with liquid and medium-viscosity contents. It works best with oil serums, carrier oils with essential oils, oil blends for beard and hair, tinctures and low-viscosity water-based liquid serums. With thick gel serums or emulsions, the pipette draws up the contents slowly and dispensing is imprecise. For such products, a pump or another closure type is more suitable.

A volume of 90 ml is suitable for products used daily in a few drops and finished over several months — such as everyday facial oils, oil hair serums or a larger pack of tincture.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the fill volume the bottle is designed for under normal conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is always larger. The difference is the headspace for the dropper, which displaces some of the contents upward when inserted, and for thermal expansion of the contents. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will overflow through the neck when the dropper is screwed on, soiling both the thread and the label. The exact figures for both volumes are listed in the product specifications.

Before filling an entire batch, measure out 90 ml of water and pour it into one bottle with the dropper fitted. You will immediately see where the level settles at the correct fill, and you can mark this point on the remaining bottles.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing and rinsing the bottle and dropper before use, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing them to dry completely. Residual water in the pipette or on the walls would introduce moisture into an oil-based product, creating a risk of microbial growth.

Repeated use. Glass can be washed and reused without any problems. The more sensitive component of the dropper is the silicone bulb. With prolonged contact with concentrated essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking whether it has softened or changed shape. After washing, also inspect the thread in the collar, where oil residues accumulate most often.

Aqueous products and preservation. The kit is also suitable for aqueous and hydro-alcoholic contents. However, the dropper pipette enters the contents with each use and the dropper tip touches the skin or fingers, so any water-based product must be properly preserved. Oil and alcohol-based contents are less sensitive in this respect.

Heat and light. Do not fill the bottle with hot contents — glass can crack with a sudden temperature change, and the dropper is not intended for hot filling. Brown glass reduces light transmission but does not block it completely. For sensitive ingredients, store filled packaging away from direct sunlight.

Labelling. The flat side walls of the square bottle are ideal for labels — they adhere without wrinkling.

Suitability for cosmetics. Both the bottle and dropper are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the relevant declaration of conformity is available with the product.

The kit is not approved for food contact. Neither the bottle nor the dropper holds food contact certification, so do not use it for food-grade oils, syrups or herbal drops for internal use. The kit is intended for cosmetics.

Recycling. The bottle belongs in glass recycling. The dropper is a combination of glass, plastic, aluminium and silicone — separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour and packaging compatibility with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the brown glass of the dropper bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, brown glass significantly reduces light transmission and helps slow the oxidation of light-sensitive ingredients such as plant oils, essential oils or vitamins. It is not a complete barrier, however. With prolonged storage in direct sunlight, the contents will heat up and may deteriorate even in dark glass. Store filled bottles in the shade.
How much product fits in a 90 ml dropper bottle?
The bottle is filled to 90 ml, its nominal volume. It physically holds more, but this extra space is reserved for the dropper pipette, which displaces some of the contents upward when inserted, and for thermal expansion of the contents. If filled to the brim, the contents will overflow through the neck when the dropper is screwed on.
Is the glass dropper bottle suitable for aqueous serums and alcoholic tinctures?
Yes, both the glass and dropper tolerate aqueous, alcoholic and oil-based contents. With aqueous products, keep in mind that the dropper pipette re-enters the contents repeatedly and introduces environmental microorganisms, so the product must contain an effective preservative. Alcoholic tinctures and pure oils are less demanding in this regard.
How do you prepare a dropper bottle for first filling, and can it be reused?
Before first filling, wash the bottle and dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. The glass bottle can be reused indefinitely. The dropper can also be reused, but the silicone bulb may change with frequent contact with concentrated essential oils over time, so inspect it before each new fill.
Can the glass dropper bottle be used for food, for example herbal drops?
No, the kit is not approved for food contact. Neither the bottle nor the dropper holds food contact certification, so do not use it for food-grade oils, syrups or drops for internal use. The kit is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics and is intended for facial oils, serums and tinctures for the skin.
Does the dropper work with thick serums and gel products?
Reliably only with liquid and medium-viscosity contents. The pipette draws up thick gel serums or emulsions slowly, dosing is uneven and drops break off irregularly. For such products, a pump or a bottle with a different closure type is more suitable. Reserve the dropper for oils, tinctures and liquid serums.
