Product description

100 ml plastic bottle with sprayer is a ready-to-use set for water-based and alcohol-based preparations applied by fine misting – hydrosols, facial and hair tonics, refreshing mists, hand sanitiser sprays or herbal hair extracts. The brown PET bottle filters light and helps protect the contents from its effects. It is lightweight and shatterproof, making it ideal for a handbag, travel or working with clients in a salon. The black mechanical sprayer with a ribbed collar completes the set with convenient dosing without the need to assemble your own combination.

Both the bottle and the sprayer have a 24/410 thread, they fit together precisely, and both components are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity is available on the product page. The set is intended for cosmetics, not for food.

How the set works

The sprayer screws onto the bottle neck; the ribbed collar makes it easy to tighten firmly even with wet hands. Pressing the pump head draws liquid through the dip tube and disperses it into a fine mist. Each press releases a small, consistently equal amount, so the preparation is applied evenly and without waste. The transparent cap protects the nozzle from dirt and accidental pressing during transport.

Dosing depends on the viscosity of the contents. Water-based solutions and alcohol-based preparations mist finely, while thicker liquids tend to stream rather than mist or may block the mechanism.

What the spray bottle is suitable for

Hydrosols and tonics – water-based preparations with low viscosity are best suited for the mechanical sprayer; the mist is fine and even.
Alcohol-based sprays – hand sanitisers, fabric fresheners or hair waters containing ethanol; the brown PET also protects light-sensitive ingredients.
Hair mists and leave-in sprays – light hair preparations without oils or with a low oil content.
Working solutions in the workshop – water for moistening during soap making, alcohol for removing air bubbles from soap surfaces, solution for disinfecting work surfaces.

The set is not intended for pure oils, high-viscosity serums, gels or emulsions. These products cannot be sprayed through the nozzle and will eventually clog it. For sprays with an oil content, we recommend testing whether the preparation still mists evenly, and wiping the nozzle after use.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions, and it is this value that appears on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides room for the sprayer dip tube, the headspace above the liquid, and expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Overfilling causes the contents to overflow when the sprayer is screwed on and liquid enters the thread.

The sprayer dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, trim it so it reaches just above the bottom and cut the end at an angle – the sprayer will then empty the bottle almost to the last drop.

What to know before filling

Before the first fill, wash both the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. After disinfecting, pump clean water through the sprayer several times and then flush with air, so that no residue of disinfectant or water remains in the dip tube to dilute the first preparation. Follow the same procedure each time you reuse the set, so that residues from the previous preparation do not affect the new contents.

PET tolerates water-based and alcohol-based preparations well. With concentrated essential oils, solvents or preparations with a high essential oil content, test the behaviour of the packaging with a small amount first – some ingredients may soften or cloud the plastic over time. The bottle is not intended for hot filling; allow the contents to cool to room temperature before filling.

The sprayer is not a hermetic closure. Keep the bottle upright during transport. For longer-term storage, especially of alcohol-based preparations, use a cap with the same 24/410 thread from the Handymade range and attach the sprayer only when in use.

The bottle has a smooth cylindrical surface suitable for a label. At end of life, the PET bottle and PP sprayer belong in sorted plastic waste – separate them before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the brown plastic spray bottle protect the contents from light?

Yes, the brown tint of PET filters light transmission and helps protect light-sensitive ingredients such as hydrosols, extracts or preparations containing essential oils. The protection is partial, not complete – for longer storage it is still advisable to keep the bottle out of direct sunlight. For everyday use of a tonic or spray on a desk or in a handbag, brown PET is sufficient.

Can oil be sprayed in the 100 ml plastic spray bottle?

No, pure vegetable oils cannot be misted through a mechanical sprayer; they stream and will eventually clog the nozzle. The set is designed for water-based and alcohol-based preparations with low viscosity. For sprays with solubilised oil or a very low oil content, we recommend testing on a small amount to check whether the preparation still mists evenly.

Is the plastic spray bottle suitable for alcohol-based preparations?

Yes, both PET and PP tolerate preparations containing ethanol, such as hand sanitiser, hair water or alcohol-based fabric spray. Fill the bottle only to the nominal volume and keep it upright during storage, as the sprayer does not close the contents hermetically. For high concentrations of solvents other than ethanol, test the behaviour of the plastic with a small amount first.

How to clean the sprayer when it stops spraying?

The sprayer most commonly stops spraying due to a dried residue in the nozzle or air in the dip tube. Unscrew it, pump warm water through several times, then clean ethanol, and finally air, until no liquid comes out. If the nozzle is visibly clogged, a brief soak in warm water will help. Allow the set to dry completely before refilling.

Can the 100 ml plastic bottle be used with a closure other than the sprayer?

Yes, the bottle has a standard 24/410 thread, so other closures with the same neck type from the Handymade range can be screwed on – for example, a plain cap for storage or transport. With a custom combination, we recommend checking the seal and dosing with the specific preparation, as the behaviour of the packaging depends on the viscosity and composition of the contents.
