Product description

A ready-made set for everything applied as a fine mist: facial tonics, hydrolats, refreshing sprays, hair waters, water-alcohol preparations and light spray fixatives. It consists of a brown glass bottle with a flat top and a black mechanical sprayer with a ribbed collar. Both parts share the same neck type, so the set does not need to be assembled from individual components or checked for compatibility.

Brown glass reduces light transmission and helps protect contents sensitive to UV radiation, which is particularly useful for hydrolats, vitamin-based preparations or those containing essential oils. Glass also does not absorb odours, does not react with common cosmetic ingredients, and can be cleaned repeatedly. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certification; the set with the sprayer is intended for cosmetics.

Key benefits

  • Light protection – brown glass reduces the effect of light on the contents, helping to slow changes in the scent and colour of light-sensitive preparations.
  • Fine mist – the mechanical sprayer dispenses a small amount of liquid per press and distributes it evenly, without drips and without hands touching the contents.
  • Ready-made combination – both the bottle and the sprayer share the same neck type, so the closure fits and seals without searching for a compatible part.
  • Practical volume – 100 ml is enough for several weeks of use with a tonic or hydrolat, and the bottle still fits in a cosmetic bag.
  • Reusable – glass withstands thorough washing and disinfection, so the bottle can be refilled multiple times.

What preparations is the set suitable for

The sprayer works best with low-viscosity contents: hydrolats, tonics, floral waters, aqueous solutions of active ingredients, water-alcohol sprays, light hair waters or air fresheners. It also handles diluted alcohol-based skin tinctures well.

Thicker preparations, serums with a thickener, oils and cream-consistency emulsions are not suitable for this type of closure. The sprayer will either fail to draw them in or eject them as a stream rather than a mist. For such contents, a bottle with a pump or dropper is a better choice.

For preparations with a higher proportion of essential oils, solvents or a high alcohol content, we recommend testing the behaviour of the plastic parts of the sprayer with the specific formulation. Glass itself is resistant to these ingredients, but it is better to verify the long-term compatibility of the PP mechanism in advance.

The sprayer tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before first use, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The diagonal cut prevents the end of the tube from pressing against the bottom and blocking suction.

Nominal and total volume

In the packaging parameters you will find two volume values. The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed during standard filling and which you state on the product label. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them forms a reserve for the sprayer tube and mechanism and for the slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, after screwing on the sprayer, some of the contents will overflow.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then leave it to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and press it dry several times so that any residual water is expelled from the tube and mechanism. Residual moisture could dilute the first doses of the contents or promote the growth of micro-organisms.

For repeated use, glass is problem-free. After emptying, rinse the sprayer with warm water and flush it through the mechanism, especially after water-alcohol or scented contents. Dried residues can block the mechanism or alter the scent of the next fill. If the sprayer starts to catch after extended use, replace it with a new one of the same neck type.

Water-based preparations without a preservative, such as a pure hydrolat without added preservation, have a short shelf life once the packaging is opened. The sprayer limits contact of the contents with hands and air, but does not replace preservation. For your own water-based formulations, include a suitable preservative.

Glass tolerates sudden temperature changes poorly. Do not pour hot contents into a cold bottle or vice versa, and do not fill it with boiling liquid. Allow the preparation to cool first to the temperature at which you normally seal it.

The bottle has a flat top and a cylindrical shape, making it easy to label. Dimensions suitable for a label can be found in the parameters. Brown glass is sorted as glass after use; the PP sprayer belongs with plastics. Separate the two parts before disposal.

If you want to use the bottle with a different closure, select one based on the neck type listed in the parameters. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the brown glass bottle with sprayer protect the contents from light?
Yes, brown glass reduces light transmission and helps protect contents sensitive to UV radiation. Hydrolats, preparations with essential oils or with vitamins retain their original scent and colour longer in dark glass. Brown glass does not block light completely, so store the bottle away from direct sunlight and in a cooler environment.
Can oil or a thicker serum be sprayed through this sprayer?
No, the mechanical sprayer is designed for low-viscosity liquids such as hydrolats, tonics and water-alcohol sprays. It will not atomise oils or thickened preparations into a mist. It will either fail to draw them in or eject them as a continuous stream, and the mechanism will quickly clog. For an oil-based serum, choose a bottle with a dropper or pump of the same neck type.
Can I fill the glass bottle with sprayer with a full 100 ml?
Yes, the bottle is designed for a nominal volume of 100 ml, but it is filled only up to this level, not to the brim. The total volume to the neck is slightly larger, and this difference forms a reserve for the sprayer tube and for the expansion of the contents. If overfilled, some liquid will overflow once the sprayer is screwed on.
Is the glass bottle and sprayer set suitable for food use?
No, the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a food-contact certification, but the sprayer does not carry this declaration. If you need packaging for edible oils, syrups or herbal extracts, use a bottle with a closure that is also approved for food contact.
How are the glass bottle and sprayer cleaned before reuse?
Wash the bottle, rinse it and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then leave it to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with warm water, flush it through the mechanism and press it dry several times so that no water remains in the tube. Remove residues of scented or alcohol-based contents thoroughly, otherwise they will affect the next fill.
Is the glass bottle with sprayer suitable for a spray with essential oils?
Yes, at typical concentrations of essential oils in a water-alcohol or hydrolat base, the set works reliably and brown glass additionally protects the scent from light. For higher proportions of essential oils or solvents, we recommend verifying in advance how the plastic parts of the sprayer behave with the specific formulation, particularly during long-term storage.
