Is this plastic container suitable for repeated use?

The bottle can be used repeatedly provided you follow basic hygiene principles and it is materially compatible with your formulation. Before each refilling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA or ethanol. For this purpose, you can use products available on Handymade – IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. Always combine repeated use with a visual inspection of the container (no cracks, colour changes or deformation).

Is this plastic bottle suitable for the dishwasher or for boiling?

The plastic material of this container is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. Washing in a dishwasher or boiling carries a risk of deformation of the container and deterioration of its functional properties (sealing, thread, shape). Hand cleaning with lukewarm water and a mild detergent is recommended, followed by disinfection with a suitable alcohol solution. This procedure preserves the shape stability and safety of using the bottle.

How should I correctly clean and prepare the container before first use?

Before the first filling, we recommend rinsing the bottle with lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then with clean water and allowing it to dry thoroughly. After drying, it is advisable to disinfect the container with alcohol suitable for cosmetic use, for example with IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or with ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. Spread the alcohol evenly over the inner surface, or use a spray, allow it to evaporate, and only then fill the bottle. In this way you minimise the risk of microbial contamination and extend the stability of the product.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle this container if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the bottle any longer, we recommend recycling it according to the type of plastic indicated in the product parameters table on the Handymade website. Before placing it in sorted waste collection, always empty the container and, where possible, rinse out any remaining contents. Then place it in the appropriate plastic waste container according to local sorting rules. By separating the container and any cap, you make the recycling process easier and support more efficient processing of the used material.
