Combining with closures and dispensers

This glass jar is supplied with a closure that is designed to ensure practical and aesthetic packaging of the final product. Combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation), especially for products with a higher content of active substances or with a strong fragrance.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is this glass jar also suitable for richer creams and balms?

Yes, the glass jar is suitable for thick creams, balms, butters and also solid perfumes. The wider opening of the container allows easy scooping with a finger or spatula and the tight closure helps protect the contents from drying out and contamination. For very oily or highly fragranced formulations we recommend carrying out a trial filling and checking the long-term behaviour of the product in the packaging.

Can I reuse the packaging for new batches of products?

The glass jar can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the container and cap must be thoroughly cleaned mechanically, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after the packaging has completely dried is the jar ready for refilling.

How should I properly clean the glass jar before further use?

First remove the product residues mechanically; for greasy components, warm water with a suitable detergent will help. Wash the container and cap thoroughly, rinse with clean water and allow to dry. We then recommend disinfecting the inner surface and the thread with alcohol, for example using IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or 96% plant-based ethanol. After the alcohol has completely evaporated and the jar has dried, you can fill it again.

How do I correctly recycle this glass packaging if I do not want to continue using it?

If you decide not to reuse the jar, we recommend recycling it according to the material types specified in the product parameters. The glass part, after rough cleaning, is normally placed in the container designated for glass. The closure and any sealing elements must be sorted according to their material (most often plastic or metal) and placed in the appropriate separate waste container. In case of doubt, follow the local waste sorting rules and the information on materials in the parameter table.
