FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Is it possible to use this plastic bottle repeatedly?

Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if handled correctly and if hygiene principles are observed. However, before each new filling it is necessary to thoroughly clean the bottle and the dispenser and then disinfect them, for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. This minimizes the risk of microbial contamination and deterioration of the contents during repeated use.

How should the bottle with dispenser be properly cleaned between individual fillings?

First we recommend disassembling the packaging into individual parts (bottle body, tube, pump head) and rinsing them with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent. Then it is appropriate to let the parts dry thoroughly and only afterwards disinfect them using alcohol, such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After the complete evaporation of the disinfectant, you can fill the bottle again with your formulation.

How can this packaging be safely disposed of and recycled if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend emptying it as much as possible before placing it in sorted waste and removing any product residues. Then assign the packaging to the appropriate sorting stream according to the material indicated in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. The bottle body and the dispenser should be sorted separately according to the type of plastic. Recycling rules may differ depending on the municipality, so follow the local instructions for waste sorting.

Is this bottle also suitable for thicker products, such as creamy emulsions or gel preparations?

The bottle with dispenser is designed mainly for liquid and medium-viscosity formulations. Thicker emulsions and gels may be usable, however we recommend performing a trial filling and testing the dosing in order to verify whether the pump is able to dispense the product comfortably without excessive pressure. In the case of very dense products, another type of packaging may be more suitable, for example a jar or a special airless system.
