Transparent plastic bottle with disc-top cap represents a practical and hygienic packaging suitable for various liquid formulations. Thanks to the transparent plastic, you always have an immediate overview of the remaining contents, and the disc-top cap enables convenient, controlled dispensing without unnecessary spillage. This type of packaging is ideal for professional as well as home cosmetics makers, where cleanliness, functionality and the aesthetic appearance of the packaging are important.
The separate plastic bottle with disc-top solution belongs to the packaging types that are standardly classified among cosmetic bottles on Handymade. These bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and caps that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always carrying out your own compatibility test – especially of sealing, dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, pH, alcohol content or oil phase content).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the cap must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. This will reduce the risk of microbial contamination and extend the stability of your formulations. With repeated use, always check the mechanical integrity of the bottle and the cap.
After the contents have been used up, we recommend rinsing the bottle with lukewarm water and a mild cleansing agent, thoroughly rinsing with clean water and letting it drain. It is then appropriate to spray or rinse the inner surface and the cap with disinfecting alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or 96 % plant ethanol, and allow it to dry completely. Only then refill the packaging in order to minimise the risk of contamination of the new product.
Plastic packaging made of materials such as PET and related plastics is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. In contact with hot water, steam or during prolonged heating, deformation of the packaging and deterioration of the cap’s tightness may occur. For this reason, washing in a dishwasher or boiling is not recommended. For normal cleaning, therefore use lukewarm water, a mild detergent and subsequent disinfection with alcohol, without thermal shock.
If you do not want to use the packaging repeatedly, we recommend primarily to recycle it in accordance with local waste sorting rules. According to the material specified in the product parameters on Handymade, place the empty bottle, cleaned as well as possible of product residues, in the appropriate collection container (usually plastic). It is advisable to separate the cap and dispose of it according to its material; this will improve the quality of sorting and further processing. Before placing the packaging in sorted waste, do not boil it or expose it to high temperatures; it is sufficient to rinse it mechanically.
To select a suitable bottle or other packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter in the packaging categories. After clicking on the relevant category on Handymade, a filter panel appears at the top of the page, where you can sort the packaging according to several parameters – in particular according to the type of neck, the desired size, colour and material. In this way, you will quickly narrow down the range to packaging that is most suitable for your specific formulation and intended use.
The disc-top cap performs best with liquids and low-viscosity preparations that flow freely when the bottle is gently squeezed or inverted. Therefore, facial toners, micellar and cleansing solutions, mild shower gels, shampoos with a lighter consistency and toner and exfoliating formulations are ideal. For very thick creams or paste-like products, we recommend choosing another type of packaging, such as jars or tubes, which allow more comfortable dosing.
