The glass jar with a clear body and black lid represents an elegant and durable container suitable for various cosmetic formulations as well as other mixtures where stability and visual presentation of the contents are important. The smooth inner glass surface makes filling, subsequent emptying and cleaning easier, which makes the jar a practical solution for artisan, small-scale and professional production. The black lid has an aesthetic effect and at the same time helps to reduce the access of light to the product from the top, which supports longer shelf life of more sensitive recipes.
The combination of the glass jar and lid creates a ready-made functional unit that ensures convenient closing and hygienic storage of the contents. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) to verify that the given packaging works optimally with your particular product.

Yes, the glass jar is suitable for thick and semi-solid formulations such as balms, butter creams, ointments or pastes. The wider opening makes it easier to scoop out the product with fingers, a spatula or a cosmetic applicator, and the solid lid helps maintain the texture and fragrance during storage.
The jar and lid can be used repeatedly as long as you follow basic hygiene principles. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, residues of the previous product removed and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example using isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or denatured ethanol ethanol 96 %. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination and ensures a longer shelf life of the new batch of product.
First mechanically remove as much product residue as possible using a spatula or paper towel. Then wash the jar in warm water with a suitable cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly. After drying, disinfect the packaging with an alcohol solution, for example with the products IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %, and let any remaining alcohol evaporate completely before the next filling. For the lid, follow the recommendations according to the material used as stated in the product parameters.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material types listed in the product parameter table. After removing product residues, dispose of the glass part in a container intended for glass, and sort the plastic or metal lid into the appropriate container according to the material marking. By separating the individual parts of the packaging, you improve the efficiency of the recycling process and reduce the volume of mixed waste.

When filling, make sure that the product has a suitable temperature with regard to the materials used for the lid and sealing, which are listed in the product parameters. It is recommended to fill on a clean, disinfected work surface and to use clean tools in order to minimize microbial contamination. Store finished products in a dry, cooler place away from direct sunlight and significant temperature fluctuations, which helps extend the stability and quality of your formulations.
