Glass bottle – clear glass medicine bottle represents a universal packaging suitable for filling a wide range of liquid and partially viscous preparations. The transparent glass allows for easy visual inspection of the contents, shade, clarity or possible sedimentation, which is important for cosmetics, pharmaceutical preparations and professional formulations alike. Thanks to the stability of the material and its resistance to common cosmetic and laboratory ingredients, this bottle is suitable for precise dosing, storing small test serums, concentrated blends and other products where a reliable and hygienic container is required.
Yes, the glass medicine bottle is suitable for repeated use provided that you observe basic hygiene rules. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, any residues of the original product removed, and then disinfected using an appropriate disinfectant, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 % denatured. After disinfection, allow the bottle to dry completely at room temperature and only then fill it again in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination and the impact on the stability of the new formulation.
Before repeated use, we recommend first rinsing the bottle mechanically with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent to remove residues of oils, emulsions or solutions. Then rinse it thoroughly with clean water so that no detergent residues remain inside. After washing, the packaging must be disinfected – ideally using alcohol, for example the product IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Fill the bottle with alcohol or rinse it thoroughly with it, let it act, pour it out and allow the packaging to dry freely. Only after complete evaporation of the alcohol is it ready for new filling.
Glass packaging is generally very well tolerated with formulations containing essential oils as well as various types of alcohols, therefore this medicine bottle is a suitable choice for many aromatherapeutic, perfume or disinfectant preparations. However, we recommend always testing the specific recipe in a small quantity, especially at a high proportion of essential oils or with atypical ingredients. Compatibility with the chosen closure or dispenser is also important – therefore, after filling, monitor the sealing, dosing and any changes in the closure material during prolonged contact with the product.
If you decide not to use the packaging repeatedly, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules and the information provided in the product parameters on the Handymade website. The glass part of the bottle can generally be placed in the container designated for glass; it is advisable to rinse it beforehand and remove any product residues. The closure, dropper or other plastic or rubber parts must be separated and placed in the appropriate sorted waste according to the type of material. Always follow the pictograms and recommendations in the parameter table for the specific product so that recycling is as effective as possible.
To choose the right packaging, you can use the extended filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the selected category, for example cosmetic packaging or bottles and vials. In the extended filter, products can be conveniently sorted according to several parameters – in particular according to the type and size of the neck, the overall size of the packaging, colour and material. This allows you to quickly display only those containers that correspond to your formulation, dosing method and the visual concept of your brand.
The choice of a suitable closure depends primarily on the consistency and the method of application of your product. For drop solutions, serums and concentrated blends, droppers or pipette caps are practical; for liquid solutions, standard screw caps with inner sealing can be used, and for products intended for spraying, choose a suitable spray head. We recommend following the neck compatibility indicated in the product parameters and always carrying out your own test when changing the type of dispenser – checking the sealing, back suction and evenness of dosing during prolonged use.
