Is this glass bottle also suitable for products with active ingredients?

Glass packaging is generally a suitable choice for many cosmetic formulations with active ingredients, as glass is a stable and chemically resistant material. For very reactive or specific compositions, however, we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – first filling a small test quantity and monitoring the behaviour of the product over time (colour, odour, consistency, any sediment).

How should I correctly prepare the bottle for first filling and repeated use?

The packaging can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each filling it is necessary to clean the bottle and the dispenser as thoroughly as possible and then disinfect them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, let all parts dry completely on a clean surface and only then refill them with product to minimise the risk of microbial contamination.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I do not want to continue using it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material composition given in the product parameters. The glass bottle can usually be emptied, cleared of residual contents and placed in a container intended for glass. It is advisable to separate the dispenser and plastic parts and sort them according to the type of plastic in line with local collection rules. Before recycling, it is important to remove as much product residue as possible so that the packaging is ready for further processing in the recycling system.
