FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is it possible to use this glass bottle with spray pump repeatedly?

Yes, the packaging can be reused if proper care is taken and hygiene principles are observed. Before each refilling, it is necessary to clean the bottle and the spray pump thoroughly and then disinfect them with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose, you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after the disinfectant has completely dried and ventilated is the bottle ready to be refilled again.

What type of products is most suitable for this spray packaging?

The bottle with spray pump is especially suitable for liquid products with low to medium viscosity that need to be dispersed as a fine mist. These include, for example, facial and body toners, hydrolates, air fresheners, hair tonics, and light perfume or aromatic blends. For formulations with a very high oil phase content or for thick solutions, we recommend testing the flow rate and performance of the spray pump before filling the entire batch.

How should the glass bottle and spray pump be properly cleaned before further use?

First, we recommend rinsing the bottle with a suitable residual solvent or with warm water and detergent (depending on the type of previous contents), then rinsing it several times thoroughly with clean water. After mechanical cleaning, the disinfection step is important – use, for example, isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol to rinse the inside of the bottle, the dip tube, and the spray head. Then leave all parts to dry freely at room temperature to allow the disinfectant to evaporate completely.

How should the glass bottle and plastic spray pump be properly recycled if I no longer want to reuse them?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle, after removing product residues and rinsing, is usually sorted into the container designated for glass. The plastic spray pump, which is usually made from a combination of several plastics and a metal spring, should be sorted according to local plastic collection rules – if sorting of composite components is not supported, it belongs in mixed waste. Before recycling, we recommend emptying and rinsing the packaging as thoroughly as possible to minimize residues of active substances in the waste stream.
