The aluminium jar with lid represents a practical and professional packaging for various solid and semi-solid preparations. The compact metal tin protects the contents from external influences and, thanks to its reliable closure, is suitable for packaging both homemade and professional formulations. You can use it as an emergency jar for travel, in your handbag or in the workshop – wherever you need to have your product safely stored and easily accessible.
Yes, this aluminium jar can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the jar thoroughly and then disinfect it with a suitable agent, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured vegetable. This will ensure that the packaging is suitable for refilling and will reduce the risk of microbial contamination of the product.
The aluminium jar is ideal especially for solid and semi-solid products, such as lip balms, ointments, body butters, solid perfumes or cream deodorants. Thanks to its compact shape, it is suitable for smaller batches, samples and travel sizes, where content protection and easy transport are important. For formulations with a higher content of very aggressive or strongly corrosive components, we recommend performing your own compatibility test of the material with the specific product.
After emptying the jar, first remove the remains of the original product mechanically (for example with a spatula) and then wash the packaging with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent. After thorough rinsing, let the jar dry completely. Before refilling, it is necessary to disinfect the inner space as well as the lid – we recommend using isopropyl alcohol or vegetable ethanol, which you apply with a sprayer or using sterile gauze and allow to evaporate. Only then is the jar ready for reuse.
If you decide not to use the jar any longer, it is appropriate, after removing any product residues, to place it in sorted waste according to the recommendations stated in the product parameters. In most collection systems, aluminium packaging is sorted into metal waste, where it can be recycled and reused. Always follow the local waste sorting rules and the information about the material in the parameter table at the product page on Handymade, so that recycling is as effective as possible.
