Product description
Plastic bottle, blue, black sprayer, 250 ml
A ready-to-fill set of a blue 250 ml PET bottle and a black mechanical sprayer, designed for liquid cosmetic preparations. The sprayer disperses the contents into a fine mist, making the set ideal for facial and body mists, tonics, hydrolates and hair sprays, where even application matters more than precise dosing. The plastic is lightweight and shatter-proof, which you will appreciate for products carried in a bag, used in the bathroom or shipped to customers.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle additionally holds a separate certification for direct food contact; the sprayer does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetic and technical use.
Key benefits
- Fine mist instead of a stream – the mechanical sprayer disperses the liquid into tiny droplets, so the preparation is applied evenly and gently even on the face or hair without running.
- Blue PET reduces light exposure – the coloured material partially limits light reaching the contents. This is not complete protection; store light-sensitive preparations away from direct sunlight.
- Lightweight and shatter-proof – compared to glass the set is significantly lighter and there is no risk of breaking if dropped.
- Easy to handle – the knurled collar of the sprayer makes tightening and unscrewing easier even with wet hands.
- Ready to use – the bottle and sprayer share the same neck type; no trial and error or combination needed.
Use in cosmetic manufacturing
The set is intended for liquid, low-viscosity preparations on a water or alcohol base. Hydrolates, tonics, facial mists with glycerin or a low level of active ingredients, hair sprays to aid detangling, body refreshers, alcohol-based hand sanitising sprays and simple household cleaning sprays all work well.
Thick emulsions, gels and viscous serums cannot be handled by the sprayer; the nozzle will clog or dispense unevenly. Light oils can be sprayed, but the mist is coarser and it is worth testing with the specific oil beforehand. With preparations containing fine particles, such as a hydrolate with sediment or sprays with a powder component, expect gradual nozzle build-up.
Before first use, wash both the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer tube and make sure that once screwed on it reaches the bottom of the bottle; otherwise the last portion of the contents cannot be dispensed.
Nominal and total volume
When filling, follow the nominal volume, i.e. the quantity the bottle is designed for in normal use. The physical volume up to the rim of the neck is larger, but this difference is a reserve for the dip tube and body of the sprayer and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes. A bottle filled to the rim will overflow or push the contents through the thread once the sprayer is screwed on.
Good to know
PET is resistant to water, common surfactants, glycerin and ethanol at concentrations typical in cosmetics. Undiluted essential oils, strong solvents and aggressive chemicals may, however, damage, dull or deform the plastic over time. Always add essential oils dissolved in a formulation, never undiluted into an empty bottle. With unusual contents, carry out a compatibility test on a single piece for several weeks.
For sprays with a high alcohol content or an oil component, we recommend verifying tightness after tightening and sprayer behaviour before a larger production run, in particular whether the nozzle starts to stick after a few days.
Both the bottle and the sprayer can be refilled. When changing the contents, rinse the bottle thoroughly, pump clean water through the sprayer and allow to dry so that no residue of the previous preparation remains in the tube. Use the smooth side wall of the bottle for labelling; label dimensions can be found in the product specifications.
PET cannot withstand elevated temperatures, hot contents or sterilisation by boiling. Fill it only with cooled preparations and do not wash the bottle in a dishwasher at high temperature.
At end of life the bottle belongs in sorted plastic as PET; the sprayer is made of polypropylene, so separate it from the bottle before recycling.
