Blue Plastic Bottle, White Cap, 250 ml

The blue PET bottle with a capacity of 250 ml and a white ribbed cap makes a ready-to-use packaging set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products. The cap is supplied with the bottle, so once it is filled you only need to tighten it and the product is ready for use or sale. The 250 ml capacity matches the usual size of shampoos, shower gels, body lotions, toners and massage oils, that is, products that are dispensed by hand after unscrewing the cap, without a pump or sprayer.

The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight and does not break when dropped, which you will appreciate in the shower as well as when shipping to customers. The blue colour gives the product a uniform look even without a label covering the whole surface. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle itself also has a certificate for direct contact with food, but the cap does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

Suitable uses

• Rinse-off cosmetics – shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and liquid soaps, which are dispensed into the palm after unscrewing the cap.
• Body lotions and light emulsions – thinner emulsions pour easily from the bottle; for thicker creams a jar or a pump is more suitable.
• Toners, facial waters and hydrosols – aqueous solutions can be filled into PET without any problems; with sensitive active ingredients we recommend verifying stability in the specific packaging.
• Massage and body oils – PET tolerates oil blends well, and the cap with a sealing liner limits leaking during transport.
• Stock solutions and intermediates in production – the bottle is also of technical grade, suitable for premixed water phases or dissolved surfactants waiting for further processing.

Filling and capacity

The nominal capacity is the volume the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total capacity up to the neck is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the cap, for the air above the surface and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill to the nominal 250 ml, not to the brim, otherwise the contents are pushed into the thread when closing and the cap does not seal.

The neck has a 24/410 neck finish. The cap from the set fits it exactly, and further closures with the same neck type, as well as ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Cap and seal

The cap is made of PP with an EPE sealing liner, that is, foamed polyethylene. When tightened, the liner is pressed against the neck and seals it even with thinner contents that would leak through the thread alone. The ribbed surface grips well with wet or greasy fingers, which matters for shower products. The cap is unscrewed completely, the product is dispensed by tilting the bottle and the customer controls the amount.

Good to know

Before the first filling, rinse the bottle and the cap, disinfect them as needed with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let them dry completely, so that no rinse water remains in the product. After thorough washing the bottle can be reused, but the sealing liner in the cap gradually loses its elasticity, so check the seal when refilling repeatedly.

PET tolerates water-based and oil-based products as well as common surfactant bases. With concentrated essential oils, fragrance compositions with a high alcohol content or solvents, verify in a test batch that the plastic does not turn cloudy, soften or lose its shape. Do not expose the bottle to aggressive chemicals.

After use, the bottle belongs in plastic recycling marked PET; the PP cap is sorted separately.
