Product description

# White plastic bottle with white cap, 150 ml

A white plastic bottle with a volume of 150 ml and a white screw cap forms a ready-to-use packaging set for liquid and free-flowing cosmetic preparations: facial toners, hydrolates, micellar waters, body and massage oils, shampoos or shower gels in smaller packs. The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight and does not break. The cap fits the 24/410 neck finish and, once tightened, closes the bottle without a dispensing opening, so the contents are poured out or measured out.

The white wall is opaque, the contents cannot be seen, and it lets through less light than clear plastic. This is useful for oils and for preparations containing essential oils or plant extracts, whose colour and fragrance change in light.

What the set is suitable for

  • Toners and hydrolates – water-based preparations that are poured onto a cotton pad or into the palm; the white wall hides any discolouration caused by extracts.
  • Facial and body oils – a volume of 150 ml corresponds to a typical pack of body or massage oil, enough for several weeks of use.
  • Shampoos, shower gels and liquid soaps – rinse-off products with lower viscosity that pour easily from the bottle.
  • Micellar waters and make-up removers – the opaque packaging looks uniform even across a larger series of products.
  • Samples and test batches – a PET bottle with a firm cap is suitable for shipping or carrying formulations that you are still testing.

The set is not suitable for creams, thick lotions or balms. Thick contents are difficult to dispense through the 24/410 neck, and a cap without an opening does not allow the product to be squeezed out. A jar or a bottle with a pump is a better choice for such products.

Cap, tightness and volume

The cap is made of polypropylene (PP) and has a liner made of polyethylene foam (EPE), which sits on the rim of the neck once tightened. The ribbing around the circumference makes it easier to grip, even with wet or oily hands. We recommend checking the tightness with your specific contents, especially with oils and thin water-based preparations: fill the bottle, tighten the cap and place the bottle on its side on a paper towel for several hours.

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The brimful capacity is slightly larger, and the difference serves as a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. For this reason, fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle is harder to close and the contents may be pushed towards the thread.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity and certificates are available with the product. The bottle itself also has a certificate for direct food contact, but the cap does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. If you want to use the bottle for homemade oil or syrup, choose a closure with a food-contact certificate.

Before the first filling, wash and rinse the bottle and the cap and disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, then leave them to dry completely upside down. Residual water would dilute oil-based preparations and increases the demands on the preservative in water-based products.

Good to know

Fill with cooled contents. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling, and protect the filled bottle from heat and direct sunlight.

Pure essential oils, undiluted fragrance compositions and preparations with a high content of alcohol or solvents may react with the plastic. With usual usage rates of essential oils in finished oils, toners or shampoos, no problem is expected. With concentrates and alcohol-based tinctures, we recommend testing how the packaging behaves on a smaller sample and watching for changes in the walls, odour or cloudiness.

The bottle is not intended for undiluted essential oils, perfume compositions or aggressive chemicals. Choose glass for these raw materials.

After thorough washing, the bottle can be reused. When changing the contents, for example from oil to a water-based toner, bear in mind that an oily film is harder to remove from PET and the fragrance of the previous product may remain in the cap and liner. The cap wears out with frequent opening and closing, so check the tightness again when refilling.

Other closures from our range with the same type of neck also fit the 24/410 neck finish, and you will find ready-made combinations with the bottle. When making your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

The PET bottle and the PP cap belong in separate plastic waste collection. Before discarding, rinse the packaging and unscrew the cap.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 150 ml white plastic bottle with cap suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not approved for food contact. Only the bottle has a certificate for direct food contact, while the white ribbed cap does not, so the set is intended for cosmetic products. If you need packaging for homemade oil or syrup, combine the bottle with a closure that has a food-contact certificate.
Does the white PET bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the white opaque wall lets through less light than clear plastic. The contents cannot be seen, and oils or preparations with plant extracts and essential oils are better protected from changes in colour and fragrance. The wall does not form a complete barrier against light, so do not store the bottle in direct sunlight.
How much can actually be poured into a 150 ml bottle?
The bottle is intended for a nominal volume of 150 ml, and the brimful capacity is slightly larger. The difference is a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume. If you fill to the brim, the cap is harder to tighten and the contents may get into the thread.
Can I pour a finished oil with essential oils into a PET bottle?
Yes, an oil-based preparation with a usual usage rate of essential oils can be filled into a PET bottle. Problems may be caused by undiluted essential oils, perfume compositions or preparations with a high alcohol content, which damage the plastic. With such contents, we recommend testing a smaller sample or choosing glass packaging.
Can the 150 ml white plastic bottle be reused?
Yes, the bottle and the cap can be used again after washing and disinfecting with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Leave the packaging to dry completely, and when changing the contents from oil to a water-based preparation, bear in mind that an oily film and fragrance are harder to remove from plastic. Check the tightness of the cap when reusing it.
