The packaging can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene rules are observed. Before each refilling, the bottle and the spray dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example using the products IPA 99 – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 denatured plant-based available on Handymade (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/, /etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/). For repeated use, we recommend monitoring the condition of the threads, seals and the spray dispenser itself, and replacing components in case of wear.

For formulations containing alcohol or a high proportion of essential oils, it is always important to perform your own compatibility test. It is recommended to prepare a small trial quantity, fill the packaging and observe the behaviour of the plastic and the spray dispenser for several days (tightness, colour changes, any softening). If no changes in the material and no dosing problems occur, the packaging is suitable for this type of blend as well.

The packaging should be protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures in order to preserve the stability of the plastic and the quality of the filled product. You can gently clean the outer surface with a damp cloth, remove any product build-up with a mild cleaning agent and then rinse. Do not use abrasive sponges for mechanical cleaning, as they could scratch the surface, and do not boil the bottle or the spray dispenser and do not wash them in a dishwasher.

If you decide not to use the bottle any longer, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the information given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. Before sorting, it is advisable to empty the packaging, optionally rinse out any product residues, and then place it in the appropriate collection container according to the type of plastic. If the packaging is composed of several materials (for example bottle body and plastic spray dispenser with metal spring), follow local sorting recommendations or separate the components where possible.

The spray dispenser is ideal for liquid, low-viscosity formulations where a fine mist or even surface moistening is desired – for example toners, floral waters, refreshing sprays, spray conditioners or cleaning products. If you are working with thicker emulsions, oils or products intended for precise drop dosing, pumps, droppers or screw caps may be a more suitable choice. When selecting, we recommend taking into account both the consistency of the preparation and the desired mode of application.
