Glass bottle of medical type is a professional packaging intended for precise and hygienic dispensing of liquid preparations. Thanks to the shape of the medicine bottle and the high-quality glass, it is suitable for filling products where protection of the contents, easy handling and controlled pouring or dripping are important. Pouring insert and screw cap support clean application without unnecessary waste and without liquid running down the edges.
This type of bottle is used primarily in cosmetics and home production of preparations, where higher resistance of the packaging to the contents and long-term stability are required. The smooth surface allows easy labelling and harmonisation with the visual identity of the brand or a home series of products.
The glass medicine bottle itself is, within the Handymade range, part of a combination with a pouring insert and a screw cap, and these components are mutually adapted so that they create a functional unit with convenient dosing. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the glass medicine bottle is also suitable for oil-based and slightly viscous preparations. The pouring insert allows controlled pouring; however, for very thick formulations we recommend carrying out a dosing test and, if necessary, adapting the filling or application method so that the product dispensing is smooth and comfortable.
The bottle can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to reduce the risk of contamination of the new product. For disinfection we recommend, for example, isopropyl alcohol or ethanol in a quality suitable for cosmetic purposes, available in the Handymade range on the pages IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After cleaning and disinfection, let the glass and the closure dry naturally so that no residual moisture remains in the packaging.
First, completely empty the bottle and rinse it with a suitable medium (for example, with vegetable oil for oil blends, or with water and a mild cleaning agent for water-based solutions). Then rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. Before new filling, it is advisable to disinfect the packaging – in practice, rinsing or spraying with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and then allowing the alcohol to evaporate completely has proved effective. For sensitive formulations we recommend carrying out a stability test so that you are sure that no residues of the previous product remain in the packaging.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly. First, empty the glass bottle as much as possible and rinse out any remaining contents. Then the glass is sorted into the appropriate container for glass waste according to local rules. The closure and the pouring insert should be separated and placed in the correct recycling stream according to the material type specified in the product parameters on the Handymade website. By sorting correctly, you support the reuse of materials and minimise the amount of mixed waste.
The glass medicine bottle provides good protection of the contents during transport; however, glass is a more fragile material than plastic, so for travel it is recommended to use a protective case or place it between soft items in the cosmetic bag. The screw cap with pouring insert helps minimise the risk of product leakage, but it is still advisable to keep the bottle in an upright position during transport and regularly check that the closure is tightly screwed on.
To choose a suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. After clicking on the selected category (for example, bottles, medicine bottles or jars), you will find the advanced filter at the top of the page. In it, you can conveniently filter by neck type, size, colour and material, so that you narrow the offer down only to packaging that fits your product and filling technology. In this way, you can easily compare several options and choose the solution that best matches your requirements.
