Plastic medicine bottle with child-resistant cap represents a practical packaging suitable for filling various loose and liquid products where easy handling and reliable closure are important. Thanks to the rigid plastic container and the cap with safety lock, it helps protect the contents from unwanted opening and ensures comfortable dispensing in both home and professional settings. The dark design of the packaging also helps to reduce light penetration, which is an advantage for products sensitive to external influences.
This packaging is supplied directly with a plastic cap with safety lock, which is designed to seal reliably and to facilitate safe use of the bottle. Combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – focused on sealing, dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation you intend to fill into the bottle.
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product specifications.
The bottle can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are followed. Before each new filling, the container and cap must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. To disinfect packaging, you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination and of affecting the quality of the new fill.
Before refilling, we recommend first mechanically cleaning the bottle and closure of any residues of the original product, then rinsing with a suitable cleaning solution and with clean water. After drying, the disinfection step is important – ideally using an alcohol-based preparation with sufficient concentration, for example products available in the Handymade range. Disinfection minimises the risk of contamination of the new fill and contributes to the stability and safety of the final product.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the material information given in the product specifications. Check what type of plastic the bottle and cap are made from, and then sort them into the appropriate recycling stream according to local rules (for example, a plastics container). Before placing them into recycling, empty the packaging, minimise any remaining contents, and you may rinse the vessel to make further processing in the recycling process easier.
The safety cap with locking mechanism is designed to reduce the risk of accidental opening of the packaging during handling and storage. The type of closure that is part of this bottle is suitable where you require a tight closure and want opening to require more deliberate handling. However, we always recommend verifying the tightness and functionality of the closure with the specific fill in an internal test, especially for active or specific formulations.
When selecting a suitable bottle or other container, you can use the advanced filter, which you can find at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the advanced filter, products can be clearly sorted according to multiple parameters – for example according to neck type, size, colour or material. This allows you to easily narrow down the range so that it matches the specific product you plan to fill, while also taking into account both design and technical requirements.
For each new product, we recommend first filling a smaller test quantity and observing the behaviour of the contents in contact with the packaging – in particular in terms of any softening of the plastic, change in colour, odour, or impact on the stability of the fill. It is also important to test the sealing of the cap during transport and storage in different positions. Such a test will help you verify whether the given combination of formulation and bottle is suitable for long-term use.
