Before each filling it is necessary to clean the bottle and the dispenser thoroughly and then disinfect them with a suitable agent, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. Always carry out disinfection in accordance with the recommendations for working with alcohol and allow the packaging to dry completely so that no residues of the disinfecting medium remain inside before filling with the cosmetic product.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend emptying it, cleaning it as thoroughly as possible from product residues and then sorting it according to the material type specified in the product parameters. The plastic bottle is usually placed in the container for plastics, while the dispenser, depending on its construction, may need to be sorted separately or disposed of as mixed waste if it cannot easily be disassembled by materials. Always follow local waste sorting rules and the information in the parameter table for the given product on the Handymade website.

Plastic packaging is generally not intended for long-term exposure to high temperatures. When heated above the recommended values, deformation, loss of shape stability or damage to the surface or the dispensing mechanism may occur. For this reason we do not recommend washing the packaging in a dishwasher, exposing it to boiling or to direct contact with very hot media. For cleaning, rather use hand washing with mildly warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, followed by disinfection with alcohol.
