Glass bottle – medicine bottle with glossy black-gold dispenser is a representative packaging suitable for carefully formulated cosmetic products and concentrates. The dark glass helps protect sensitive components from light and supports longer stability of the contents, which is why it is popular for packaging serums, oils and other liquid products. The elegant dispenser enables precise and hygienic dosing, making the bottle suitable also for premium hand-made production, test samples or limited editions.
The dark glass of the medicine bottle is a stable packaging material that commonly withstands oil-based and water-based formulations and helps to reduce the action of light on sensitive components. For each new product, however, we recommend performing your own compatibility test – filling a smaller amount of the formulation, monitoring the behaviour of the packaging and the dispenser and checking whether there are any changes in fragrance, colour or viscosity.
Yes, the glass bottle can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging and the dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After rinsing with the disinfectant, let the bottle and the dispenser dry completely so that residual moisture or alcohol is not transferred into the new formulation. When changing the type of product (e.g. from a perfume oil to a watery serum), we recommend testing whether any fragrance or residues of the previous product remain in the packaging.
You can first rinse the glass part of the packaging with warm water and a mild cleaning agent, rinse well and then disinfect with alcohol (for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). We recommend rinsing the dispenser with warm water, “pumping” clean water through the mechanism several times and then also rinsing with disinfecting alcohol. After cleaning, let all parts dry thoroughly at room temperature on a clean and hygienic surface.
If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend recycling it according to the material composition specified in the product parameter table. The glass part can usually be disposed of in the glass container after emptying and basic cleaning, while the plastic or combined dispenser should go into separated plastic collection or mixed waste according to local rules. Before handing it over for recycling, remove as much product residue as possible and check the pictograms or recycling information in the product parameters on the Handymade website.
