Glass bottle – medicine bottle represents a professional packaging solution suitable for filling a wide range of liquid and partially viscous preparations. The rigid glass material ensures the stability of product composition and minimizes interaction between the contents and the packaging, making it suitable for formulations with active ingredients, extracts or aromas.
This type of medicine bottle is popular in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food sectors, where emphasis is placed on hygiene, cleanliness and long-term protection of the contents. Thanks to its shape, the bottle is easy to fill, label and store and is ideal for small to medium batches of products intended for resale or sampling.
The glass medicine bottles in this category are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators) according to the parameters selected at purchase. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) so that you can be sure of correct performance with your specific product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are stated in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Glass packaging is generally very stable and is also suitable for formulations with a higher content of active ingredients, alcohol or aromatic components. However, it is always recommended to carry out your own compatibility test with the specific composition (especially in the case of highly concentrated acids, bases or specific solvents) to verify the long-term behaviour of the product in the packaging.
The packaging can be reused provided that correct hygiene principles are observed. Before the first and each subsequent filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the medicine bottle, rinsing it and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol (for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable). Allow the disinfectant solution to act, let the remainder evaporate and only then fill the container, in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination and any impact on the fragrance or stability of the product.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is recommended to recycle it according to the material type specified in the product parameters. Glass medicine bottles are normally sorted into containers intended for glass (often green or white containers, depending on the local system). Before disposal, remove any product residues; any plastic or metal closures should be sorted separately according to their material. Adhering to local waste-sorting rules ensures that the material can be processed again, thereby reducing the amount of waste.
When selecting a suitable bottle or medicine bottle, you can use the advanced filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the advanced filter you can combine several criteria at once – for example the type and size of the neck, the overall size of the packaging, colour or material. In this way you can easily narrow down the range to the packaging options that are most suitable for your specific product and dosing method.
The basic step is to check the information in the product parameters, where the neck type and other important details required for matching with closures are specified. On Handymade you will find many packaging items with pre-prepared compatible combinations that have been tested for sealing and functionality. For your own combinations, we always recommend ordering a smaller quantity and carrying out a compatibility test with your specific formulation – check the tightness of the closure, the smoothness of dosing and the stability of the product during storage.
