Thanks to the stable material, the glass bottle is also suitable for formulations with a higher proportion of active ingredients or perfumed blends that may be more demanding for other materials. When creating your own recipes, however, we always recommend testing the compatibility of the specific blend with the packaging, especially in the case of a high concentration of essential oils, acids or other intensive actives. The test includes checking the sealing, behaviour of the closure and stability of the product during storage.

The packaging can be reused provided that hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the closure must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, ideally using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Disinfection helps reduce the risk of microbial contamination and is particularly important for products containing water or for preparations intended for sensitive skin. When changing the type of product (for example from an oil formulation to an aqueous solution), we recommend even more thorough preparation of the packaging and checking that no residues of the original product remain.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules and the information given in the parameter table for the product. The glass part of the bottle can usually be sorted into the container designated for glass; it is advisable to empty it beforehand and remove gross residues of the product. The closure, which is often made of a different material than glass, must be sorted according to the type specified in the packaging parameters (for example into plastic or mixed waste). We recommend separating the glass bottle from the closure to make recycling easier and more efficient.

For long-term stability of the contents, the combination of high-quality packaging and proper handling of the product is important. Always fill the bottle to the recommended level to minimize excess air and pay attention to the cleanliness of the working environment and filling tools. After each use, close the packaging carefully with the child-resistant cap and store it away from direct sunlight, humidity and significant temperature fluctuations. For sensitive formulations, we recommend ongoing monitoring of the product’s scent, colour and consistency and, in the event of any changes, not using the product further.
