Product description

The glass jar represents a practical and hygienic container for packaging creamy, gel and loose preparations. The clear design enables simple visual inspection of the contents and professional presentation of products, while the stable glass material is suitable for a wide portfolio of cosmetic and artisan formulations. Thanks to its compact shape, the jar is easy to store, easy to fill and is ideal for smaller batches of products, testers or travel sizes.

Possible uses

  • packaging natural creams, balms, ointments and body or face butters
  • storing gels, scrubs, clay masks and emulsions
  • a practical jar for lip balms, hand creams and spot treatments
  • a jar for loose blends – for example bath salts, powder masks, scrub blends
  • a suitable container for homemade mixes – for example DIY peeling, “do it yourself” cosmetic recipes and trial batches
  • organising small components in a workshop or studio (pigments, glitters, small decorative elements) – outside of food use

Packaging advantages

  • Material stability – the glass jar is chemically inert, does not react with the contents when a suitably chosen formulation is used, and can be used long-term.
  • Safe and hygienic storage – the smooth glass surface is easy to clean, which reduces the risk of contamination in both professional and home use.
  • Aesthetic and professional appearance – clear glass allows the colour and texture of the product to stand out, which is ideal for brands focused on artisan or natural cosmetics.
  • Versatile use – suitable for a wide range of cosmetic formulations, test samples and smaller product collections.
  • More ecological solution – glass is a long-term reusable material that can be reused or recycled in accordance with local waste-sorting rules.

Combining with closures and dispensers

The glass jar is intended to be combined with a suitably selected lid, which will ensure convenient use as well as protection of the contents from impurities. When choosing a closure, it is necessary to follow the parameters specified for the product and select a type that corresponds to the desired method of application and the design of the final packaging.

Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation), especially for products with a higher content of active ingredients, oils, alcohols or preservation systems.

Technical parameters

All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can the glass jar be reused?

Yes, the glass jar can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. However, before each new filling it is necessary to clean and disinfect the container thoroughly – for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, which you can find in the offer as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and extends the stability of the final product.

How should I properly clean the glass jar before further use?

First, mechanically remove any product residues from the jar, then wash it with warm water and an appropriate detergent and rinse thoroughly. After drying, we recommend disinfecting the inner surface and the thread with an alcohol solution – for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Before refilling, make sure that no residues of cleaning agents or moisture remain in the packaging.

How can I dispose of or recycle the glass jar in an ecological way if I do not want to continue using it?

If you decide not to reuse the jar, we recommend recycling it according to the material specified in the product parameters. After thoroughly emptying and cleaning it, place the glass container in the appropriate waste-sorting bin intended for the given type of glass. The closure, seal and any plastic or metal parts must be sorted separately according to their material composition. Respect the local rules for waste collection and sorting in your region.

For which types of cosmetic products is this jar most suitable?

The glass jar is ideal for richer and semi-solid formulations where easy application with fingers or a spatula is desired. It is particularly suitable for face and body creams, balms, butters, ointments, scrubs, clay and gel masks, as well as spot treatments or testers. We always recommend testing the compatibility of the specific recipe with the packaging, especially if it contains a higher proportion of oils, active ingredients or fragrance.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

To select suitable packaging, you can use the extended filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the extended filter you can combine several criteria at once – for example the neck, size, colour and material of the packaging. This allows you to easily display only those bottles, jars, pots or medicine bottles that meet both the technical requirements and the visual style of your product.
