Yes, the packaging is suitable for most water-based and hydrolate blends, facial and body sprays and light toners. We recommend always testing the behaviour of the spray pump with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, presence of oily components) so that the atomization is even and without clogging. Before the first use and subsequent refilling, the bottle and spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

The packaging can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and spray pump must be thoroughly washed, then rinsed and disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely. For hygiene reasons, we do not recommend alternating cosmetic, cleaning and other types of contents in one packaging without thorough cleaning and assessment of suitability.

If you decide not to reuse the bottle and spray pump, we recommend recycling them according to the material stated in the parameter table at the product on the Handymade website. Before placing them in sorted waste, it is advisable to empty the packaging as much as possible and rinse out any remaining contents. Then place the packaging into the appropriate container according to the plastic type in line with local sorting rules. In this way you reduce the amount of waste and support the reprocessing of the material.

For formulations with a higher content of alcohol or essential oils, we recommend making a small test batch and monitoring the behaviour of the plastic and the spray pump over time. Focus especially on changes in the colour of the material, possible softening of the plastic, deterioration of sealing or change in the quality of atomization. If the product is stable and no material degradation occurs, the packaging may be suitable for long-term use with the given formulation.
