Product description
The clear PET bottle with a capacity of 150 ml and a silver disc top cap forms ready-made packaging for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by squeezing the bottle. The clear plastic shows the colour and the remaining amount of contents. The bottle is light and does not break when dropped, so it suits the bathroom, a travel bag and the retail counter alike. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.
A volume of 150 ml corresponds to a standard pack of shower gel, shampoo or body lotion that lasts for several weeks. It is also useful for samples and smaller batches, where the manufacturer needs a closure that opens with a single press, without having to unscrew it every time it is used.
How the disc top cap works
The disc top opens by pressing one side of the disc. The other side lifts and reveals the dispensing opening. The product is dispensed by squeezing the bottle, and after use the disc is pressed back down and the opening closes. The customer can take a dose with one hand without putting the cap aside, which you will appreciate especially with products used in the shower.
The cap combines an aluminium shell with a silver finish and an inner part made of PP, and the centre of the disc is white. The metal surface gives the packaging a different character from all-plastic closures with the same dispensing method. The closure screws onto the bottle, and both parts have a 24/410 neck finish.
What the set is suitable for
- Shower gels and shampoos – gel textures dispense evenly through the disc top and the bottle keeps its shape after being squeezed.
- Body lotions and lighter creams – thinner emulsions pass through the opening without difficulty. With thick creams, check whether the contents can be squeezed out of the bottle.
- Liquid soaps and hand cleansing gels – quick dispensing of a dose without unscrewing.
- Conditioners and hair masks in a thinner consistency, applied straight into the palm.
- Body and massage oils – for blends with essential oils, we recommend testing the behaviour of the packaging beforehand, see the note below.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference serves as a reserve for the inner part of the closure and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill up to the nominal volume. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the contents may overflow when the cap is screwed on or may be pushed out uncontrollably at the first squeeze.
With emulsions and gels, let the contents settle before closing until the surface levels out and the air bubbles escape. Then top up to the required amount and only then screw on the disc top.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual water would dilute the contents. The same procedure applies for repeated use. Rinse the dispensing opening of the disc top separately, as product residues collect in it.
Clear PET does not protect the contents from light. Store products containing light-sensitive ingredients away from direct sunlight, or consider dark packaging. This applies doubly to products used in the shower, where the bottle stands in light and warmth.
Do not expose the packaging to aggressive chemicals or heat; this bottle is not suitable for hot filling. With concentrated essential oils, solvents and products with a high alcohol content, leave a sample in the packaging for several weeks before filling a larger batch and check whether the plastic turns cloudy or deforms, or whether the scent of the contents changes.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations of the bottle with a closure can be found in the Handymade range. If you combine parts yourself, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
The bottle is made of PET and belongs in plastic waste. The cap combines aluminium and PP, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
