FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this bottle with spray pump be used repeatedly?

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene rules are followed and it is handled appropriately. Before each new filling, the bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example isopropyl alcohol or denatured ethanol. Only after the alcohol has completely dried and evaporated is the packaging ready to be reused with a new fill.

How should this plastic bottle with spray pump be properly cleaned and disinfected?

First, we recommend rinsing the bottle with warm water and a mild cleaning agent and rinsing it well with clean water. Then it is advisable to disinfect the interior and the spray pump using alcohol, for example IPA 99% or ethanol 96% plant-based denatured. Pour an appropriate amount of alcohol into the bottle, activate the spray pump so that the disinfectant solution also reaches the inside of the mechanism, and leave it to act. After the alcohol has drained and evaporated, the packaging is ready for further use.

How can this packaging be safely disposed of and recycled if I do not want to use it repeatedly?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is recommended to recycle it according to the type of material specified in the product specifications. Before handing it over for separate collection, it is advisable to empty the bottle, rinse out any remaining contents and separate any combined parts (for example the cap, spray pump or internal tube), if the design allows it. Then place the packaging in the appropriate container according to local recycling rules (e.g. a plastic container for plastic packaging). Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations given in the technical documentation and the local waste-sorting guidelines.

Is this bottle suitable for hot or warm solutions and can it be washed in a dishwasher?

Plastic packaging of this type is not intended to be filled with hot or very warm solutions, because exposure to higher temperatures may cause deformation of the bottle walls or damage to the spray mechanism. For the same reason, washing in a dishwasher or boiling is not recommended. For cleaning, it is better to use hand-washing in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, followed by disinfection with a suitable alcohol.
