Clear round plastic bottle, matte white flip-top, 200 ml

A clear PET bottle 200 ml with a matte white flip-top cap is a ready-to-use set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products. The contents are dispensed in small amounts directly into the palm. PET is lightweight and will not shatter if dropped, making the bottle suitable for the shower, bathroom sink, and travel. Through the transparent wall, you can see the colour of the product and how much is left.

Both the bottle and cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What products is this set suitable for

The flip-top cap has a small dispensing opening and a hinged lid that opens and closes with one hand. The contents are dispensed by tilting and gently squeezing the bottle. The choice of products corresponds to this:

• Shower gels and shampoos – they flow smoothly through the opening and the dose can be gauged even with a wet hand.
• Liquid soaps and cleansing gels – when a pump is not required, a flip-top is a simpler and more economical choice.
• Body lotions and thinner conditioners – liquid to medium-viscosity emulsions are suitable, as they flow towards the neck on their own when the bottle is tilted.
• Massage and body oils – the small opening releases oil in drops to a thin stream, so no more than needed is dispensed.
• Tonics and micellar waters – dispensed onto a cotton pad held against the opening.

Thick creams, butters, and solid balms are difficult to squeeze through the small opening and residue tends to stick to the walls. A jar or tub is a better choice for these.

Nominal and total volume

The bottle is labelled with the nominal volume, meaning the volume it is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the rim of the neck is slightly larger. This difference serves as headspace for the cap and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle may overflow when closing and product can get into the thread.

What to know before filling

Container preparation. Wash the bottle and cap with warm water and detergent before first use and rinse thoroughly. Then disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or 70% ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the bottle increases the risk of microbial contamination, especially in water-based products.

Material sensitivity. Common cosmetic formulations, including products containing essential oils at typical usage levels, are well tolerated by PET. Neat essential oils, concentrated fragrance compositions, and strong solvents should not be used in this bottle as they may damage or cloud the material.

Light. Clear PET does not protect the contents from light. Products containing sensitive vegetable oils, extracts, or natural colorants should be stored away from direct sunlight or stabilised with an antioxidant.

Label. The round body of the bottle has a smooth cylindrical section where labels apply without creases. Bottle dimensions are listed in the specifications. Labels adhere best to a dry, degreased surface, so apply the label before filling.

Recycling. Both the bottle and cap are plastic and should be placed in the recycling bin for plastics once empty.
