Product description

Coco glucoside is a mild, non-ionic tenside obtained by reacting glucose (sugar from plant sources) and fatty alcohols from coconut oil. It provides gentle but effective cleansing, rich foam and improves the tolerance of anionic tensides in blends. It is biodegradable and suitable for natural formulations of personal care products.

It has broad compatibility with all classes of tensides (anionic, amphoteric, nonionic) and is suitable as both a primary and secondary co-tenside. Typical final pH of formulations can be broad (approximately 4-12), with the raw material having an alkaline pH.

Use in formulation:

Solubility: fully soluble in water
Dosage: approx. 1 - 25% depending on product type and desired ASM
raw material pH: approx. 11,5 - 12,5
Incorporation into the process: usually in the aqueous/tenside phase, ideally cold or with moderate heating
Compatibility: anionic, non-ionic and amphoteric tensides

Due to its vegetable origin, mildness, high compatibility and HLB ~13, Coco glucoside is a versatile tenside for sustainable, gentle and effective cleaning products.

What pH is appropriate for the final product?

Coco glucoside tolerates a wide pH range; for skin products, a slightly acidic pH ( around 4.5-6.5) is usually targeted.
