Dipropylene Glycol (DPG) is a clear, colorless liquid with low odor that belongs to the group of polyhydric alcohols (glycols). It is obtained as a by‑product in the production of propylene oxide, then fractionally purified and stabilized for use in cosmetics and perfumery. Thanks to its excellent solubility, stability and very good skin compatibility, it is used as a solvent, humectant and fragrance stabilizer. Its advantage is low volatility, which prolongs the longevity of fragrances in products and at the same time helps their even dispersion.

The recommended dosage of Dipropylene Glycol ranges from 1 % to 20 %, depending on the type of product and the desired effect. In perfume blends it can be used up to 90 % as a fragrance carrier. It is compatible with water and alcohols, non‑toxic and stable over a wide pH range (4–10). It is added to formulations in the final phase or as a carrier component for fragrance ingredients.
Safety rating of the raw material according to EWG: 1 (low risk, safe even for sensitive skin)
Dipropylene Glycol is an exceptionally versatile and stable raw material, ideal as a fragrance carrier, humectant and functional solubilizer. Thanks to its effectiveness and safety profile, it ranks among the key auxiliary substances in perfumery and cosmetic formulation.
