Plant-based ethanol is a highly pure alcohol obtained by fermentation of renewable plant sources such as cereals, sugar beet or corn. In cosmetic manufacturing it fulfils several functions – it acts as a solvent, preservative component, disinfectant and carrier of active ingredients. Thanks to its properties, it is often included in facial toners, perfumes, disinfectant products and hair care cosmetics. It is a sustainable alternative to synthetically produced alcohol, combining efficacy, purity and plant origin.

What is the difference between plant-based and synthetic ethanol?

Is plant-based ethanol safe for the skin?
Yes, at recommended concentrations it is safe and is used in many cosmetic preparations. At higher doses, however, it may dry out the skin.
