Product description

Euxy K 712 is a mild and effective preservative designed for modern cosmetic products with a pH of up to approximately 5.5. It combines sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate – two substances with a proven safety profile and reliable protection against bacteria, yeasts and moulds. It is completely water-soluble, easy to incorporate and does not cause any change in the fragrance or colour of the finished product. Thanks to its mildness, it is also suitable for sensitive skin, baby care and natural cosmetics.

Use in formulation

• Recommended dosage: 0.5 – 1.5 % depending on product type and microbial risk.
• Optimally effective at pH ≤ 5.5.
• Stable in anionic, cationic and non-ionic systems.
• Add to the aqueous phase during cooling (below 40 °C).
• Avoid prolonged heating above 80 °C.
• Regulatory limits: EU – up to 1.96 % (leave-on) and 5.35 % (rinse-off).
• At higher microbial risk, we recommend the upper end of the dosage range and confirmation of efficacy by a challenge test.

Safety and storage

EuxylK 712 is well tolerated, suitable for mild formulations as well as products for sensitive skin. Store in the original tightly closed container, protected from heat and direct sunlight. In acidic systems, it does not cause discolouration or haze.
