FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is it possible to use the plastic pump repeatedly with different products?

The pump can be used repeatedly, but it is recommended to keep it long-term with one type of product. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the packaging including the pump and then disinfect it with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination as well as undesirable changes in the scent or colour of the new product.

How should the pump be properly cleaned before reuse?

First disassemble the pump into the accessible parts and rinse with a suitable cleaning solution or warm water with a mild detergent, making sure that no residues of the original product remain in the mechanism. After rinsing, allow everything to dry thoroughly and then disinfect the internal surfaces with an alcohol-based preparation (for example IPA 99% or plant-based ethanol 96%). Only after the alcohol has completely evaporated is the pump ready for new filling.

For which types of liquid products is this pump most suitable?

The pump is ideal for low- to medium-viscosity liquids, such as facial and body milks, light emulsions, toners, liquid soaps or disinfectant solutions. For very thick creams or balms, dosing may be limited, so we recommend carrying out a trial test before final filling to verify that the mechanism provides smooth and even dispensing.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle the pump if I do not want to reuse it?

If you decide not to use the pump further, it is recommended first to empty it and remove product residues in accordance with local rules for the disposal of cosmetic or chemical residues. Then clean the packaging of formulation residues and adapt the sorting to the material specification given in the product parameters – according to this, the parts of the pump can be assigned to the appropriate separated waste stream. Always follow local recycling rules and the recommendations of your collection system in order to maximise the level of material recovery.
