FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Is this plastic bottle suitable for repeated use?

The bottle can be reused if strict hygiene rules are followed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the packaging, rinse it and then disinfect it with a suitable alcohol solution (for example IPA or ethanol). For disinfection, we recommend using products available on Handymade, such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. Only after thorough drying is the bottle ready for reuse.

Can this plastic bottle be washed in a dishwasher or boiled?

The plastic packaging is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures, therefore we do not recommend washing it in a dishwasher or boiling it. When exposed to hot water, steam or high temperatures, the bottle may deform and the sealing performance of the cap may deteriorate. For cleaning, choose lukewarm water with a mild detergent and then use an alcohol-based disinfectant to ensure the hygienic readiness of the packaging for the next filling.

How should I correctly dispose of or recycle this packaging if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend first emptying it thoroughly and removing any product residues. Then it is necessary to follow the information about the material type given in the product parameters on the website – according to this, you will place the packaging into the appropriate sorted waste stream (e.g. plastic container according to local sorting rules). The cap is often made from a different type of plastic than the bottle body, so it is advisable to separate the individual parts before recycling, if local recycling regulations allow this. Always follow local guidelines for sorting and recycling packaging.
