Yes, the glass bottle can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to prevent microbial contamination or influence on the new batch by residues of the original product. For disinfection we recommend using, for example, isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or plant-based ethanol Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. After treatment it is necessary to let the packaging dry completely and only then fill it again.

First we recommend removing all residues of the original product by rinsing with a suitable cleaning medium that is compatible with the formulation used (for example warm water with a gentle detergent for oil-based products, combined with subsequent thorough rinsing). After mechanical cleaning of the bottle and the dropper, disinfection is essential, for example using a suitable alcohol such as isopropyl alkohol or rastlinný etanol. After disinfection it is necessary to leave all parts of the packaging to dry freely at room temperature and only then use them again.

We recommend storing the bottle in a dry and clean place, protected from direct sunlight and major temperature fluctuations. The dark glass itself contributes to the protection of light-sensitive components, but in order to maintain the stability of the product, it is advisable to complement this protection with proper storage – ideally in a closed cabinet or box at normal room temperature. The bottle must always be kept carefully closed with the dropper in order to minimise contact of the content with air and impurities.

If you decide not to use the bottle further, we recommend primarily recycling it according to the type of material stated in the product parameters. The glass part of the packaging can, after removing product residues and separating the dropper closure, be placed in the appropriate collection container for glass. The dropper, which contains plastic and rubber parts, is sorted according to local rules for plastic waste or handed over at a collection yard if the local collection system requires it. Always follow local instructions for waste separation and the information on material composition stated with the product on the Handymade website.
