The glass jar represents an elegant and professional packaging suitable for filling various cosmetic products and special blends for which a reliable and aesthetic method of storage is important. Thanks to high-quality glass, it is suitable for packaging creamy, gel-based and loose (powder) products that require a stable environment and minimized contact with the surroundings. The glossy black design helps reduce light penetration to more sensitive formulations and supports longer-term stability of the contents when stored correctly.
The jar can be reused provided that proper hygiene practices are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected, for example using a suitable alcohol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Packaging prepared in this way reduces the risk of microbial contamination and helps maintain the quality of the new product.
First remove the residues of the original product using a spatula or a wipe, then wash the jar in warm water with a suitable cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly. After complete drying, we recommend spraying or wiping the inside and the inner side of the closure with disinfectant alcohol (for example IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %) and allowing it to evaporate completely. Use clean tools when working and work in the cleanest environment possible.
Glass is generally a stable and resistant material, also suitable for many concentrated cosmetic recipes. However, for formulations with a high content of acids, strong actives or essential oils, we recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – checking the behaviour of the product in contact with the packaging over a longer period of time. The test helps reveal possible changes in consistency, colour or odour and verify whether the selected packaging fully suits the specific formula.
If you decide not to use the jar any further, we recommend its responsible recycling. The glass container can generally be sorted into a glass collection bin, and it is advisable to remove any product residues before disposal. Sort the closure and any internal inserts according to the material specified in the product parameters (for example plastic or metal), or dispose of them with mixed waste if recycling of the given material is not available in your area. In this way you reduce the amount of waste and support efficient use of resources.
On the Handymade website, you can use the advanced filter for each packaging category, located at the top of the page after clicking on the specific category. Using this filter, you can easily select packaging according to neck type, size, colour and material, so you can quickly find a solution suitable for your product and method of dosing. We recommend considering in advance whether you need a bottle, a jar or another container, and then filtering according to the required parameters so that the packaging supports both the stability and the user comfort of your final product.
