The glass jar represents a professional solution for packaging creamy, gel-based and loose (powder) formulations in smaller batches, suitable for home-made and artisanal products. Thanks to high-quality glass, it provides a stable environment for sensitive formulas and helps maintain the texture, fragrance and functional components of the prepared products. Dark glass also naturally contributes to reducing light exposure to the contents, which is particularly advantageous for products containing oils, vitamins and other light-sensitive substances.
The jar is prepared for use with a compatible closure according to the selected product parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) so that you can be sure that the packaging works reliably with your specific product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the enclosed packaging quality certificate and in the product parameters.
Before filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the jar, checking its visual cleanliness and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol-based disinfectant. For disinfection, you can use for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After the alcohol has dried, the jar is ready to be filled with your formulation.
The glass jar can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are followed. After the contents have been used up, we recommend mechanically cleaning the jar, washing it with a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing it thoroughly and, before each refilling, always disinfecting it, for example using the product IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. A packaging prepared in this way is suitable for further safe use with a new batch of product.
If you decide not to use the jar further, we recommend recycling it according to the material specified in the product parameters. After emptying and basic cleaning, the glass container is usually placed in the container designated for glass. The closure and any inserts should be sorted according to their material (for example plastic or metal), if this is allowed in your sorting scheme. The exact recommendation follows the material designation given with the product.
The jar is particularly suitable for thicker and semi-solid products such as facial and body creams, balms, ointments, body butters, scrubs or clay masks. You can also use it for concentrated blends, test samples or small batches of products intended for intensive facial and skin care.
When selecting suitable packaging, we recommend using the extended filter in the packaging material category. After clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, jars or dropper bottles), you will find the extended filter at the top of the page. Using the filter, you can conveniently select according to parameters such as neck type, size, colour or packaging material and thus find more quickly the solution that will best match your formulation and the intended method of use.
