Plastic medicine bottle with tamper-evident ring is a practical bottle designed for the safe packaging of liquid and powdered preparations where protection of the contents against accidental opening and stability during storage are important. The brown opaque design together with high-quality plastic helps protect more sensitive formulations from light and reduces the risk of degradation of active ingredients. Thanks to the reliable tamper-evident ring of the closure, the packaging is also suitable for products where first-opening control is required.
The packaging can be used repeatedly with appropriate handling and adherence to hygiene principles, as long as you do not see signs of damage or wear on it. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. In the Handymade range you will find, for example, the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based, which are suitable for disinfecting the clean and dry packaging before refilling.
Plastic packaging of this type is generally not intended for sterilisation at very high temperatures. Boiling or washing in a dishwasher on a hot programme may lead to deformation, weakening of the walls or deterioration of the seal of the closure. To prepare the packaging before reuse, we recommend gentle washing with lukewarm water and a suitable cleaning agent, thorough rinsing, drying and subsequent disinfection with alcohol (for example with products available on Handymade) at room temperature.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend placing it, after emptying and basic rinsing, into separate collection according to the material designation given in the product parameters (for example, plastic packaging into plastic collection). The closure and the bottle may be made of different materials, so it is advisable to separate them before disposal and sort them separately, if this is possible according to local collection rules. Always follow the local waste sorting system and the pictograms on the packaging so that the material can be recycled efficiently.
The compatibility of the packaging with a specific formulation depends on the type of active ingredients, the alcohol content, the product pH and the presence of essential oils. Before filling a larger quantity, we recommend carrying out your own test – fill a smaller amount of product, leave it in the packaging for a certain time and monitor changes in colour, odour, consistency and any possible changes on the bottle itself and the closure. For clearly aggressive or highly concentrated substances, it is advisable to check the material recommendations given in the product parameters or consider using alternative packaging.
