Yes, the packaging can be reused if handled appropriately. However, before every new filling it is necessary to thoroughly clean and disinfect both the bottle and the spray pump. We recommend using an alcohol-based disinfectant, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. After applying the disinfectant, allow all parts to dry completely at room temperature and only then refill the packaging. By following hygiene principles, you support the safety and stability of your product.

The bottle with spray pump is ideal for liquid products with low to medium viscosity that need to be applied as a fine mist. Typically these are face and body sprays, toners, hair lotions, aromatherapy sprays, disinfectant solutions or air fresheners. Before the final filling, we recommend testing dosing and compatibility – checking that the spray pump does not clog, does not leak and that the packaging material tolerates the specific composition of the preparation well.

First completely empty the packaging and disassemble it – separate the bottle body from the spray pump. Rinse off product residues with lukewarm water (without using hot water or boiling). Then we recommend treating the packaging with an alcohol-based disinfectant, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 % of plant origin. You can pour the alcohol into the bottle and pump it through the spray pump so that the internal capillary is also cleaned. After disinfection, allow all parts to drain separately and dry thoroughly at room temperature, and only then reassemble and use the packaging.

Neither the plastic bottle nor the spray pump is intended to be exposed to high temperatures. The effect of hot water, steam or drying at a high temperature can lead to deformation of the packaging and deterioration of the functionality of the spray mechanism. For this reason, we do not recommend washing the packaging in a dishwasher, boiling it or sterilising it with boiling water or steam. For cleaning, rather choose lukewarm water, mild detergent products and subsequent disinfection with alcohol according to the recommendations above.

If you decide not to continue using the packaging, we recommend first emptying it completely and removing any product residues. Then disassemble the packaging into separate parts (bottle body, upper part with spray pump, overcap) and adjust sorting according to the type of material, which is stated in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. According to this marking, place the bottle in the appropriate container for sorted waste. If you are not sure, follow the local waste sorting rules in your municipality or city, or hand the packaging over at a collection yard. By recycling correctly, you support a responsible approach to the environment.
