Can this plastic bottle with spray pump be used repeatedly?

You can safely reuse the bottle if basic hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After completely drying, the container can be refilled with the chosen formulation.

How should the spray pump be cleaned properly to keep the dosing smooth?

We recommend maintaining the spray pump regularly by rinsing it with lukewarm water and then spraying through to remove any product residues from the internal channels. For thicker or oil-based formulations, it is advisable to use a small amount of a mild, non-aggressive cleaning agent, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Before reusing, check that the spray pump produces an even mist and that the nozzle is not becoming clogged.

Is this bottle suitable for storing products containing a higher proportion of alcohol or essential oils?

The packaging can also be used for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils, but we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test. Fill a smaller amount of the preparation, leave it in the container for a certain time and observe any changes – softening of the plastic, change in colour, tightness or the functionality of the spray pump. In this way you can verify whether the specific recipe is suitable for long-term storage in this type of packaging.

How can this plastic packaging be safely disposed of and recycled if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the packaging any longer, we recommend first emptying it completely and removing any product residues by rinsing. Then follow the recycling symbols and the information given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website. According to the material designation, sort the container and the spray pump into the appropriate separated waste stream. In this way you will ensure correct recycling of the material and reduce the amount of waste in the general municipal waste fraction.
