The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly mechanically cleaned (rinsing, washing with a suitable cleaning agent) and subsequently disinfected. For disinfection we recommend using, for example, isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, available in our range as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. After disinfection, allow the packaging and any closure to dry completely so that your formulation is not diluted or affected.

Glass as a packaging material is generally very stable and suitable for packaging concentrated or active substances from the cosmetic or technical field. When working with highly reactive components or specific pH values, however, we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test: fill a small trial amount, monitor any changes in appearance, odour, colour or sedimentation and also verify the functionality of the chosen closure or dispenser during longer-term storage.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend placing it in sorted waste according to the material specified in the product parameters. The glass bottle is usually thrown into the container intended for glass, while the closure or dosing component must be sorted separately according to its material (often plastic or metal). Before recycling, empty the packaging and remove any product residues by rinsing to prevent contamination of the recycling stream. Always follow the local waste-sorting rules in your municipality or city.

When filling, it is advisable to use a funnel or dosing accessories to avoid contamination of the neck and thread, which may affect the sealing of the closure. Do not overfill the packaging and leave a sufficient headspace below the neck, especially for foaming or temperature-sensitive formulations. For storage, choose a dry place protected from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight; this will support the stability of the composition and a longer shelf life of the product. For viscous fills we recommend testing which type of dosing (dropper, applicator, standard closure) ensures comfortable application.
